Yes inquiring minds want to know..

Are the bearings already pressed in the wheel?

Does it include the bolts to move the rotor and sprocket from your old wheel(since the bolts are not reusable)??

We need an emoticon that is tapping his foot and looking at his watch every couple of minutes.

This is the one upgrade since '06 that I feel is worth doing. I've said since day one that a 3 bearing setup was the proper fix and am willing to pay for it as soon as it is proven.

I doubt that.
Otherwise rear wheel bearings would come with those bolts.

2 replacement sets of rear wheel bearings done under warranty at different dealers, and those bolts look like the same ones that came on it from the factory.

That's part of the problem with the internet. Within 17 minutes of Buell introducing some of the 2010 stuff I was getting complaints "my dealer doesn't have any info on . . . "

I'm old fashioned.

In order to learn what is and is not include and involved I simply placed an order.

This does several things.

It allows me to see what arrives and in what time frame and provide feedback to Buell.

It also allows me to make suggestions. We went through quite a bit of work, last Sunday afternoon and Monday morning, dialing in the Rider Comfort Kit.

I'm heading to meet Moose in a bit and we'll see what we have.

I kinda doubt it too.. however when the original post indicates the kit is 'All Inclusive' it makes you wonder what that really means... hence the questions trying to clarify what it really includes.

Well...I fail to see the issue. You don't have to remove the brake and / or pulley to change bearings (you've seen the big, bearing-sized hole in the middle of the pulley and the brake rotor, yes?). If you have the same wheel...same bolts are no problem.

Court is getting a NEW WHEEL, meaning the rotor and pulley would have to be swapped from one wheel to the other. Requiring, by the book, new bolts.

If you're concerned your bolts are being removed and reused, index them with either a marker or a screwdriver scratch before taking the bike in for work. Or...something radical these days...*ask* if the rotor/pulley were removed and reinstalled, or if they were just left in place.

I have been doing all my own work in the last 2 years... So, I would like to know whats included so that I know exactly what I need to order above and beyond the 'All Inclusive' kit. It always bothers me when I order something.. get it and get ready to install only to discover I needed something else (my own fault of course).. something that should not be reused (like bolts on rotors etc). So, now I always review the SM first.. determine what I need to replace per the sm.. and then make sure I order everything along with what ever it is I'm working on. In this case, its obvious that you need to move the rotor and sprocket and that to do so you need new bolts per the SM.

So, I think its a valid question..... as to exactly what the kit does/does not contain. I just consider it doing my due diligence.

Just trying to get all the info I need so that I can order everything required at one time.

My guess is the kit contains the wheel with bearings pressed in and the new axel. But what happens if they come without the bearings pressed in.... for those of use doing our own work.. that would be really handy info along with the other question raised here.

The other thing to be mindful of is the tools necessary to remove the rotor and sprocket. I just replaced damaged rear rotor and broke 2 Torx 40 tools on the first bolt. This screwed up my schedule since I don't have 3 torx sockets.

My wife took the rear wheel to a shop and they broke their snapon Torx 40 socket also but did manage to get the rotor off (not sure I want to know how).

Alchemy, next time use a little heat with a propane torch. Red Loctitie needs some heat before it will let go.

I don't have my FSM here at work, but aren't they installed with red Loctite? So heat would be necessary to break them loose.

I have not done the bearing changes (on my Uly) personally as they were done under warranty, but I recall someone quoting the SM about the prescribed order, and removing the pulley was part of the process. I don't have my SM here to verify this, however.
If this is true, this would mean removing the bolts.
Someone sure buggered up one of mine pretty good along the way, and I've never removed them......

The tool the dealer used to install my rear bearings in my '07 required that the pulley be removed from the wheel.

The dealer would not reuse the pulley bolts. He did not have enough new bolts in stock at the time and returned my wheel without the pulley attached.

Thanks to the folks at Liberty for going out of their way to install all these 2020 . . ooooops, make that 2010 upgrades over the past couple days . . . I'm off to toss a quick 1,000 miles on them and see what I can break.

And . . . . . kudos to Buell for listening. This stuff looks like an absolute home run.

Cool, it came with a new valve stem.

I am a little unclear about the last photo. Looks like the old bearings were being removed from the old wheel which would be optional I would think.

Anything packed under the new seals?

Last Photo: When we got done . . . Chris put the old wheel on a spindle and we tried to check the condition of the old bearings. Tough to tell but they seemed okay.

That small ring fits inside one of the dust seals. I meant to post the stacking diagram . . . I will in a bit . . . gotta get this pickup load of Nikon crud to the post office.

Well, he paid for the labor, so you could cut it to $370 by doing it yourself, and as previously pointed out, he can probably get close to $200 for his old wheel, so you're only looking at somewhere in the range of $200 net for the swap. Still more expensive than a few sets of bearings, but a lot more attractive than $500, and hopefully it's good for a LOT of miles before bearing replacement is required.

Looks like the new spacer may be more substantial than the old one. Over all looks like a substantial redesign to end any future problems.

Tire will have to be removed and reinstalled. Bearings pressed in. Sprocket and rotor moved.

I wonder if any labor charge can be saved if just the wheel is brought in?

Look guys . . . I posted the price for your information and to help you make your decision. It is, by any measure, subjective.

I used to do a lot of "get on the bike and get off 16 hours later" style of riding, day after day. Not sure I ever will again, but I like my bikes in that condition.

I broke one of my major rules this week by making a change within 7 days of setting out on a ride. But in this case it made sense.

I'll likely sell the old wheel for $200 (as noted above) or keep it but I like the peace of mind.

My goal was to get you ALL the information, what makes up the kit, what's involved, what's it look like and so forth as quickly as possible. In my mind, "how much does it cost?" is part of that info just like "how does it work?"

I'm really stoked that Buell did this.
