OK so,seems like i have been fighting this problem for about a year now... I have a 2003 XB9R with 16,500 miles, homemade open airbox conversion, re-routed breather, STOCK ECM/ and Jardine GP1. Current Mapping is stock, used Race Map from 07 ECM for a little while and felt it did no good and stock map was better. Regardless I have been chasing and intermitant problem of cutting out at 5-5200 rpm's under load usually in a hot condition. In certain situation when really bad the bike threw open/high ETS Code. Again I will be replacing the ETS and looking for broken wires for the THIRD time this year.... I know it sounds like a "short" but this is usually on hot days or long periods of riding. Also the coil and both plug wires were replaced on the later end of 2007.; The bike is well maintained, and rode hard.( I didn't buy it to stare at it and cruise)I am contacting Al and other resources to day to possibly find another Fuel map in case I might be running lean.( I have ECM Spy and cable, if you might have a map for me to try) But my mileage doesn't add up and my plugs i just pulled out are only look grey not white. Oh, and the bike has not been static timed since I bought it in July of 2007. And i believe has the OEM Oxygen sensor. (I have never changed it) All things considered I have put 13,500 miles on this bike in 2 years and the original owner only put 3k on in almost 3.5 years. ANYONE out there that has heard of anything similar to this? Thanks in advance, Neil. |

You probably need customized fuel mapping to address the modifications you've made to the intake and exhaust. |
