I've been thinking about getting a new, still in the showroom, 2008 xb12xt. The dealer wants $10,000.00 out the door. Is this a good price? I really don't need as I have a BMW R1100RT that runs fine at 116,000 miles. |

I paid full MSRP for my '08 XT and don't regret it one bit. Of course, I bought it from a dealer who appreciated my business, and they are Buell friendly (TSI in Ellington, CT), and that's worth a lot in my book. 10K out the door sounds like a very reasonable price to me for a bike as sweet as the XT. |

Same exact story as Crusty. 10K sounds really good! |

That's $4k less than I paid for my 2008 XT and I am happy with my purchase. |

My 09 XT is up for sale for more than that. But, hey, I have a chrome heat shield included in the deal. |

$10k is a good price. I paid $8900 for my XT last month, used with 2600 miles on it. The best price new I found was $10,400 for a demo '08. |

An 08 with 630 miles on it went for about $9,600 on eBay a few days ago. |

After my trade in (an '08 customized HD Fat Boy) I paid $10,000 for my '09 XT. I've been riding for 30 years now, and I really enjoy riding this bike! I mostly ride on tarmac but if I want to go off road, I can. Plus the bags are huge. Sounds like a reasonable price. I say go for it. |

Warning: The ole girl will get a rest (BMW R1100RT), when you buy the XT. +1 to that. My Uly replaced my R1100RT and the only things I sorta-kinda miss are ABS and that 6 gallon fuel tank. Cheap parts and even easier maintenance make up for it though - as easy as it is to adjust valves and sync throttle bodies on an oilhead, the Uly is even easier |

Enough people have already told you it is a great deal, but I'll chime in anyway: I paid a tiny bit more than that for my '07 with 700 miles on it. My intention was not to replace my R100RT, but that is what ended up happening. I only very occasionally miss the larger fuel capacity and I guess the center-stand and the sidecase latches that never broke for 24 years... The airheads have a nice rumble that I miss sort of, but not much. But given the choice of RIDING the two bikes the BMW just never won and there is no point in filling up all that space in the garage and paying insurance and doing maintenance on a bike I wasn't riding. (The five year plan is to get a larger garage and eventually perhaps another airhead, but that is another story.) What Keith said. I paid MSRP for mine and don't regret it at all. I've owned a Blast, Firebolt, and Ulysses...the Blast just left, I'm selling the Firebolt, but the Uly will be forever. |

In my opinion the Ulysses is a tremendous bike. If you have the means you will not regret it. I would try to bargain in the right side scoop and the ECM reflash. Then just enjoy the heck out of it. |

I paid under $8K for my '07, new on the floor with 72 miles on the odo, from Baton Rouge HD about six weeks ago (first Buell). They had two more '07s on the floor at the time. Another dealer in the area tried to make me a "deal" on an '06 for $11K. I've been keeping my eye on the Uly for a few years and knew a good deal when I saw it. They may have one left! |
