Looked at a 2000 blast today, a little ratty but thats ok. The only thing that worried me was damage to the rear caliper mount ( i think ). The screwheads on the rear disc had aluminum built up on them from hitting something. Seems it was the mount. Anyone seen this before? Should I run for the hills? The shift lever seemed a little loose, too. Big clunk going into gear. |

Is it the clunk or the damage on the brake mount? |

Clunk is probably normal. The aluminum transfer begs the question Why? Did you ask why? The last question is its a 2000. Low miles? How much? That year should be dirt cheap especially if its ratty and showing some signs of perhaps bearing failure or improper assembly. Again, dirt cheap are the key words and are you mechanically inclined? |

$1500. asking price. 9000 miles. Reasonably mechanically inclined. The owner didn't seem to be aware of the damage. new clutch cable. Hole in the airbox where the crankcase vent went is open . Not aware of that either. And the spacer was still in place on the primary adjusting bolt...small leak there as well. The shift lever was modified. A bolt was in place of the rubber whatzit. no obvious bending of the lever. bad repaint job. he got the instructions to change the clutch cable from badweb. that's good. turn signals don't work..Hmmm... |

Bad custom paint, dropped, no maintenance, signals dont work-run! Unless they drop the price at least to $1000 or less. You can get newer, better for the same price (but this is the middle of riding season, so dont expect them to be given away) |

I've 9k and with the exception of an o-ring oil leak, there are no issues with my bike and it's Riders Edge for the first 800 miles, hard Riders Edge, too. I'd run. |

In Phoenix, August is NOT the middle of riding season.... A grand for this bike is beginning to seem about right. I don't believe the owner would go for it, tho. Oh,and it needs tires RIGHT NOW. The carb looks newer than the rest of the bike, but I'm no expert. AND its a cully-fo-nee-a bike. But I'm not going to hold that against it. |
