Hey guys, question. I ran over a nail and popped my rear tire recently. Since the bike is out of commission anyways until the tire comes in, I thought i might as well paint some the bike. Considering I'm useless when it comes to anything mechanical or technical (sad, i know), i was wondering if there was any different way to prep different covers or guards for paint. I was planning on doing the sprocket cover, the heel guards, the belt guards, the passenger peg mounts, an airbox, potentially the side rails, and the idler pulley if i decide i dont care about powdercoating. I was just planning on using Dupont rattle can from home depot. I'd appreciate any input |

Rep: Scuff it up good, prime, & paint. Wetsand with a zillion grit before each fresh coat if you're going for a glossy finish (good luck with that if you're using rattle can). Harden the paint in the oven when your wife isn't looking. |

Scott, thanks for the advice. Everything i seemed to paint looked really good for what i used. I'll probably have to get rattle can clear to finish off the heelguards or else they'll rub off on my boots. And wife? Ha! Good joke, I'm only 19. Still have a long ways away for that. |

Felix, if the roads are dry when I wake up I am down to ride. I mentioned it to a couple other people that I would be meeting at dunkins on shrewsbury st in worcester @ 9am if roads are dry. I also posted it on the "other" board. If anyone else here is free it would be nice to see some more faces. |
