Quick question. I know the center bolt is ~110 lb-ft. What is the torque setting for the two side bolts? Thanks. |

Depends which FACTORY SERVICE MANUAL you want to believe ??? My 1997 S3T Manual says 73-78 ft.lbs. Have a 1999/2000 S3T Manual which says 73-78 ft.lbs. My 2000 P3 Manual says 63-70 ft.lbs. Picked up on BWBers that 60 ft.lbs. was the NEW CORRECT Torque ... When "i" replaced my FRONT ISOLATOR MOUNT it was installed with my 1997 Torque "INFO" and mine is still together ... IMHO, it does not mean "BUELLschitte if it is not put together correctly no matter which Torque SPEC. you use ... |

My '00 X1 and '01 S3 FSM have no listing that I can find for the two 3/8" front Iso mounting bolts. The bolt is a 3/8" with a top lock nut, the same size and grade designation as the tie bar bolts which are listed at 30 ft. lbs. ( good luck getting a torque wrench in there, I just pull tight and forget about it) BTW in the above FSM's the rear Iso's and the main front Iso bolt are listed in the Engine Torque Spec's not the Chassis section where they should be. |

70- 80 ft. lbs on a 3/8" bolt will pull the threads at minimum if not snap it in two. |

There is some confusion happening here. Is the question about the side bolts regarding the rear isolators? (at the sides of the bike.) I think that is what Buellistic is answering. The two side bolts, on either side of the front isolator's main bolt, are 30 foot-pounds. Correction. 30 is for the three bolts on the side plate of the S2. My manual says nothing about those small bolts. (Message edited by Sportyeric on August 08, 2009) |

Appreciate all the input. As always, I learned more that I asked for. I was originally asking about the two bolts on the sides of the front ISO and 30# makes sense given the size of the bolts. I do remember the 60# spec for the rear ISO from the time I did my belt. Thanks again. |

"and did torqued iso-mount front 60 lbs" I thought the center bolt was 110 ft-lbs and the two side bolts were 30 ft-lbs. Which one is 60 ft-lbs? Is it different for an S3 vs. an X1? What am I missing something here? Sorry, just a bit slow this morning... |
