Well I got into it with the gate people on APG about a couple things. 1. why do you ask only cyclist for their dl? don't you need one to drive a car? 2. why do i need a belt over a pack made out of orange and reflective stuff? 3. if it is approved as a upper garment why do i have to wear a vest under it? In the end I went to safety office to complain, the sent me to the CSM who rides and he agrees and policy is to be changed soon (on apg.) at my regular base it is only bright color during day and reflective during night time. Saw the pictures on DCSportbikes...I love that part of Maryland. Man, that's risky ridin' for just bluejeans (Kevlar or no)! Looks like kneepads would have helped that one crash. Definitely need more Buells. I'll try to join one of these in the future. | ||

Coming Events: (September 4-6) AMA Pro Superbike Championships Weekend at New Jersey Motorsports Park (http://www.njmp.com/ama.html) is on the weekend of Labor Day, which means most of us should be off on Monday. It's a 2.25 hour ride from Balto HD. If there is enough interest, perhaps, we can make it a group ride up on Sunday?? Paul (Pellis), Scott and a coworker over at Balto HD might be in. Anyone else??? There were 3 of us on Buells. I brought my 02 M2 Cyclone, there was a 2k's '00 X1 and Ras's XB. Fun ride, minimal traffic, no tickets, no accidents. Shortstuff, on her little Ninja blocked all the bugs for me. (hehe) She took 2 of them to the throat (ouch). (Message edited by themalks on August 09, 2009) | ||

There was quite a mix of bikes that showed up, not just a GXR fest. 2 Triumphs, the little Ninja, R6 and the Buells. That fresh pavement was stickkky! Not sure when I'll lead another ride, but I'm sure there will be another next weekend. I want to work on a more easterly route. | ||

Stopped by Annapolis HD/Buell today. It looks like they're getting out of the Buell business. They only had 2-1125's on the floor and all of the Buell clothing is in the discount rack. Lots of 1125 button down shirts and tees. About 40% off. | ||

This morning I was asked if that was My "piece of shit Buell out front." I asked the @$$hole why he thinks it is a piece of shit. He then told me it is "slow and ugly, it looks like shit." I responded, well I don't look at the bike much while I'm riding it... Squirett, why so worried about what others think? I'm on a bike for me and me alone. Opinions are like a-holes, everybody has one, and yours stinks like ish. One girl at my work swears mine is the ugliest bike made, and I simply inform her that she does not now, or ever in the future, have to ride it. | ||

I added to a thread called 09/04/09 - 09/06/09: AMA Pro Racing @ NJ Motorsports Park on the first page on Storm fronts about a possible roll call for this event. Ferris_Von_Bueller mentioned this and about a couple of people interested. I have several interested in going. The plan is to go up on Sunday. Please respond to the thread so that if we get a good amount of people wanting to attend, we can set a time for everyone to meet up and ride as a big group. Thanks | ||

I'd LOVE it if someone called my Uly ugly. It actually sort of is, so I could agree with them. That's part of why it's cool. People love bulldogs for some reason. And the A-10 Warthog attack plane is ugly too, but... Anyone know what kind of bike that "waver" is riding in the Buell wallpaper? | ||

"not a social networking tool..." I beg to differ. I've met more people (good and bad, but mostly good) since I've had my Buell than my entire life up until that point. (probably an exaggeration) I like that ugly thing, its FUNCTIONAL! Which means no matter how it looks, it performs it's intended function. Which coincidentally, is kicking @$$ and taking names. No one who rides with me ever talks crap about Buells again. (in fact, one or two guys have gone and bought one)  | ||

YESSSSSSSSSSSS The Burger run is an excellent way to burn up unnecessary fossil fuels on a sunday. I shall be there although I haven't had time to install my latest performance enhancing aftermarket product. |
