The 2010 CR setup is what I've been looking for. However, there may be some good deals on the 2009 model with the higher bars installed. Are there any technical improvements from 2009 to 2010 that would warrant the extra cost of buying the 2010 model? |

I think it is just the decals and the tall bars |

Small updates like improved clutch slave cylinder, front brake master cylinder seal, updated axles and bearings, different turn signals, etc. Nothing real big that should make you choose a 2010 over a 2009, IMO. |

I found some really good deals on cycle trader for new 09's. I thought it was a misprint actually but I called them to confirm. I got mine for MSRP out the door. |

I just picked up an 09 for a good price. If anything like the clutch slave cylinder fails, I will have it replaced with the 2010 stuff. The bew graphics are easy to apply should I want them. Oh by the way, the upright bars suck. |

Froggy, Re: upright bars - I take it you have tried them. Can you be more specific than they "suck"? I haven't ridden a CR with the upright bars but I have sat on one. It felt pretty good to me, about like an XB12 that I test rode. |

My bike came with them. They just don't feel natural on the bike. Hard to explain, but having your legs cramped but body upright? Also, I find it harder to hold on at speeds, I feel like a kite with the excessive wind blast, its much worse than my Lightning was. Crouching over to roughly where the clubmans put me, I reduce the effect dramatically. I will probably swap back to the clubmans in a few weeks. |

Now how are you going to put the Uly tail on it with clubman bars? |

I was gonna put clubmans on my Uly before my wreck, now its a back burner project |

I REALLY like the club man bars, I can't imaging the CR with out them. I wonder if the new parts fit the 09'? I would like to have the window on the case and keep clutch weep at bay. |

Froggy, I can imagine the wind blast would be greater with the uprights. However, the cramped leg issue is one I would deal with by installing lower pegs. Maybe you should try that. Macchiato/Puredrive, if I wanted the 09 CR clubman riding position, I'd get the R for the fairing. They fit the same to me. I'm glad you like them though. Purebar, I AM an old man - with a young attitude. |

I'm actually 35 but I feel like I'm 25..lol In my opinion, I think Buell messed up in changing the handle bars. CR= Cafe Racer. It should come with clubman style bars from the factory. End of story. If someone wants to change them then so be it. This bike is not a XB lighting

I am happy with the pegs, it just feels half assed being tight and race ready down there, yet all leaned back like I got ape hangers. Its like getting a Big Mac without the beef. Sure, its 5000 calories less, but it defeats the point. It will all be pointless anyway once the Uly tail goes on |

Pure, it should come from the factory with either one, just like some cars come with optional automatic or manual. |

Guys, don't forget, the lower footpegs (from the Uly) are really the only way to fully enjoy the upright bars. GL. |

Facepalm on all of you guys that support the idea of having high bard from the factory... You guys are ruining my vibe..lol When I think Cafe Racer I think something along these lines. That's one of the main reasons I got the CR model.

Perhaps CR now means Cruiser Racer? |

I understand the CR is supposed to be "cafe racer", but let's be realistic. Its look is way more "street fighter" than "cafe racer". The upright bars fit with the street figther better. I think Buell decided they needed to distinguish the CR from the R by more than just the fairing. The upright bars seem logical to me. Most people who want naked bikes want high bars. ac |

Clarkjw, I was just at my local Buell dealer and they had a ULy next to an 1125R. Just eyeballing the pegs, the Uly ones look too wide to fit in the pivot slot. Did you have to do any grinding/filing? It looks like the XB? lower pegs would fit without modification. |

IIRC, some people may have grinded them down. I would think the XB's would work, but nobody has said it. If you're in the dealer, ask them for a favor and test out both. GL My 1125R is already too high upfront. I had to put preload at 11/1 Front/Rear |

Big +1 for Puredrive!!! When uprights became standard, the model should've changed to 1125S. |

It probably should look more like a cafe racer than it does.... but if I were buying one, I would have to go with higher bars and lowered foot pegs. I don't bend that way anymore. that would probably be the Buell I would buy, especially the 2010 model. One more car to pay off, or sell the S1 and the S2, then I can buy a new Buell. REX |

I hate the upright bars. I loved the cafe-racer styling of the CR. I'd definitely get an '09 instead of a '10. I agree, the clubman bars made the bike. How many mass-produced bikes have clubman bars as standard? Leave it to Erik to break the mold. Or, rather did... |

Uly pegs drop right in. Swapped my first set - silver, in the dealer parking lot. Sold those and I have black Uly pegs now. Z |
