OK, I have taken up the gauntlet of producing the Thor's Keepers patch. . . I need to get a feel for how many Blastards might want one so I know how many to order - I'm already getting quotes on 100% embroidery patches at 3". Also looking at creating a CafePress storefront (no markup) using the same logo. Let me know if you're interested in a patch. . .

I'm good for a few. I'd like to get an idea of price though. ($5-okay, $20-I'll take 1!). And for the love of pete, fix that tank cover |

I'd like to have some thrown my way as well. At one time Thor was the name I wanted to put on my first Blast, although my bikes have been outfitted more for touring than racing. I'm definitely a Blast Ambassador and would love to be include in the "Thor's Keepers" club. |

Um... I think the 3" patch would be too big and draw the attention of outlaw biker types. I think a smaller design would be ...safer maybe 1-2" like the 3% and Stepchild patch Glitch did a few years back. Either way, I will take 3 |

3" is about the size of the timing cover and I certainly wouldnt want it any bigger. As far as drawing attention, as long as you dont put it in the middle of the back of your jacket and include a couple of 'rocker' patches above and below the logo, you'll be fine. I also wouldnt include the words 'prospect', 'nomad' or identification of your local area on your jacket either. I dont see it as being a problem unless you're being an idiot (on a Blast LOL) and as long as there arent any "clubs" called "Thor's" anything. Is there? PS I'll PayPal when/if you need money. |

A quick search of Wickipedia didnt turn up anything close. But it also didnt list notably the Hessians and a few others, so I'd say their list is incomplete. They did list the "Pissed of Bastards of Bloomington", so we may want to stay away from anything like that! |

But Swampy - I am an outlaw biker type. Just don't tell my mom. She would be so disappointed in me. Truth be told the only thing I can claim allegiance to being is a GDI. Still, will put my money where my mouth is and fork it over for the Thor's Keepers...patch, sticker, whatever. BTW - Swampy, now have a "Moose" sticker on the Blast. I earned it! |

Here's the scoop - to hit a sub $5 price we need to order a minimum of 50 patches. If we go with the order number we have now we'd be looking at at $10+ which none of us want to pay. So, I will post on some of the other forums and see if we can drum up enough interest to get us into the sub $5 range. In the meantime I went ahead and set up a CafePress store with a selection of some items that I though people might like. There's no markup on them over the CafePress price so no one is making a profit here except them There's some fleece jackets, polo shirts, mugs, etc. You can view them at http://www.cafepress.com/thorskeepers . I too looked into using the name before I started looking at patch companies and found no one using it. Unfortunately, there is a long established "blastards" group in the Confederate Air Force so we can't add a blastards logo. . . |

50 patches @ 5$ ea = $250 10 people buying 5 patches ea= $250 5 people buying 10 patches ea= $250 I'm willing to go more $$ to get it done. It would be nice for someone to see a finished product beforehand though. I'd hate to pay for crappy patches that no one would wear (and I've seen some bad patches). Thanks again for taking this on |

I agree on the sample issue Gear. . . I am soliciting a few bids and then will ship off the artwork for a sample production. There's a large cost differential between 100% threaded and less than 75% threaded, i.e. dyed plastic. I'm aiming for 100% threaded because we don't need no stinkin' plastic patch. Depending upon the total order price I may just go ahead and order enough to get us to a reasonable rate and continue to offer the remainder on various sites - anyone object to listing a few on eBay to cut down our costs? |

As long as no one takes offense that's probably what I will do when I find the best supplier. Since it's not my artwork I wanted to check in with everyone before I did it! |

Sounds good, keep us in the loop, as I need some patches, I am even working towards a new jacket and will have the Buell oval patch(large) under the Harley one. At least my Blast was a buell, since 2010 up will have no designation if the info I received stays the course. |

I just did a new mesh jacket for the summer with the large Buell oval on the back and a black pegasus on the left front. I tried to get the small Buell ovals on the shoulders but need a hooked-type needle to avoid sewing through the padding and CE armor. It is muy nice for the heat once you get moving! The Thor's Keepers patch will go on the right front of both jackets (mesh and heavier duty for spring/fall). |

UPDATE: The best quote I have is for around $3.50 - $4.00 per patch for 99% thread coverage and a plastic backing (like the stock HD/Buell patches). So I will work to get a sample over and get a digitized sample back (no real sample unfortunately). It will probably take me another week or so to get the order details put together.} |

I think you've got close to a full order here, so I'd hold off on e-bay for a while. I'm also not against putting them up on e-bay, but I do have my reservations about it (as yet I havent figured out what they are?!). Cafe press sites pretty cool too! |

Conway: I checked out the CafePress shirts and was wondering if there was a way to get just a "girl cut" t-shirt. I don't wear polo or tanks shirts - can I "borrow" the design to make a light womans T or can you offer one through them? I'm ready to fork over the cash for the patch when it's ready. Thanks for all the work you are putting into this. |

Do you want the image in the middle of the shirt or on the left like the polo? There are many T-shirts and I will add a few - just let me know where you think the logo would be good! I have orders for 25 patches so far and will probably go ahead an buy 50 to keep costs down but will have to get to it in a week or so due to some work deadlines - it's a pretty busy part of the year for me. |
