Top pix are 20+ years old if I'm not mistaken. Is that a Barton motor??? That's why the 2008 1125R was Black and Blue - it was a long, painful struggle for Erik to get his dream on the road... Zack |

VR1000 engine, but in Buell's own chassis - fuel in frame, twin split radiators, liquid-cooled DOHC V-twin... sound familiar? |

Whats the hose coming out of the subframe? Oil in Subframe? Also whats the metal box hanging by the wheel? Given the size I would say a 1980's ECM |

Also whats the metal box hanging by the wheel? C'mon Froggy. Can't you see that is an 8-track player?

That was the first oil on the swingarm attempt. Only later would they come upon the oil in the swingarm concept. |

That box is an oil bag?? I'm with Froggy, looks like an early "smart" ECM. Very cool to see the VR1000 in a better home than HD showed off. I didn't even think of THAT motor. Z edit - It's only sinking in NOW after 20k miles that the stroke is ONLY 2.5 inches. I have what seems like a LOT of torque for such a short stroke. Gawd I love this bike. The RR's @ MidOhio was neat to be within two feet of...one was even naked! Hats off to Mr. Buell for his efforts! He deserves every win on an 11...funny how BMC is back into racing! ... Go Buell! |
