Question: How do you stop everyone from showing up for a ride? Answer: Have Eric show up! Had a nice 'old-timers' run: Eric, JP, and me. Only a little bit of rain... I led, and nobody crashed. That's a first! We stopped at that gas station out by 84 and the Hooters girls tour bus showed up. It was awesome! OK... so I made that up. But you never know what you might be missing out on! |

the girl giving out the #'s was cute too. When my turn came, she looked up and asked, "do you want 69?". I paused, and said, "why yes, yes I do." It's too bad it's only a temp #. Novices get 3 digits. I'll get my permanent # 8/22 at the race. Shawn, do the school 8/21 and race with me 8/22. |

Hey guys, looking for dealer advise. Just endo'ed my X1 yesterday after a guy two cars ahead of me slammed on the brakes apparently for no reason. I won't hear back from my insurance about if they are going to deem it totaled or repairable until Wednesday, but I want to start looking into the best dealer to undertake the repairs. Any suggestions? |

yeah, don't go to Sheldons HD for anything. Precision HD for parts only. Tripp is the man! (Message edited by 03worc9r on August 03, 2009) |

Go see Peter at GMD Computrack. http://computra.startlogic.com/default.htm They do insurance jobs and will do a top notch job. Peter is a really cool guy to deal with. He knows his shit and has some top of the line equipment. |

From what I could see it was just the tank cover, left side air scoop, shifter toe peg, front cowl, headlight, clutch lever, handlebars, the instrument cluster housing snapped off its mount, and when they were unloading the bike from the wrecker and hitting the front brake there was a distinct clicking sound as the front forks compressed (i was thinking steering head bearing or isolator). If it was just bolt on work I'd have them cut me a check but I'm not equipped to change out a steering bearing or isolator. |

+1 on GMD. He works with the racing crowd and can do frame straightening and everything under the sun. But there's just one problem... He hates Buells. As for your insurance, they'll probably total it. So you either buy back and build it better-stronger-faster, or you parlay that insurance check into a new Buell. Or Ducati. Or Aprilia. Or Honda. Damn; New England Buell Owners is slowly turning into New England Bike Owners. I guess we're a bunch of slow learners! Spider. (Message edited by scotty_j on August 04, 2009) |

Ah ha...another rider on the NEBO upgrade plan... +2 to everything you've seen so far... Bolt on stuff do it yourself...on that note...the stablizer on the front engine mount is NOTHING to be certified for...it's just some bolts like all the other stuff... |

I would like to share with all you fun loving jerks that my near catastrophy of broken bolts in my head has been avoided. It is true that only one of 8 was broken until I tried to remove them. Then 8 were sheared. Now I have 8 brandy new bolts to reassemble my piece. First I must have a celebratory beer. Moral of the story: never trust somebody elses tool to work correctly. Insert gay jokes here: |

FWIW & speaking of upgrades, my former '03 xb9s is for sale at Todd's Motorcycles in Bellingham: toddsmotorcycles.com It is a Cafe bike (done before Erik B. did his CR) with Frank Parts body work and a custom seat. Heated grips, too. The real feature is the twin Screaming Eagle pipes - amazing sound. For fun you might want to stop by on line, but it is more fun to listen to in person. Less than 10K on the clock as well... |

I was starting to turn blue I held my breath for so long. This was a "get it right now before you end up spending a couple grand" kinda situation. A couple grand I definitely don't have. |

G.M.D. Computrack.... But I may be a little biased here... Get it measured first then decide..... Only like 100.00 and tells EVERYTHING... It will be done correctly the first time. No Bullsh!t lines there... |
