Buellistic and everyone else, I've heard this mentioned before. What all part do I need to convert to the XB Primary gearing? I would like the 12's lower gearing so I can cruise with less RPM. |

I do believe you want the clutch basket and chain out of a 9 not a 12. |

the 9 will up the rpms, but get you more low end grunt, the 12 will lower it. Not sure how it all relates to a tuber though |

BUELLers: XB9's have the same motor sprocket and primary chain as the TUBE FRAMES ... Put XB12 motor sprocket gearing on your TUBE FRAME lowers the RPM's for interstate riding which makes the gearing TALLER ... On the TUBE FRAMES that have the SPEEDOMETER SENSOR on the TRANSMISSION, changing the motor sprocket DOES NOT EFFECT the SPEEDOMETER ... Plan to put XB12 motor sprocket(PN 40290-04) and primary chain(PN 40147-04) on my 1997 S3T ... Have already done this PRODUCT IMPROVEMENT on my 2000 BLAST for interstate riding ... |

What amount of RPM drop are you talking here? 500 RPM , 1000 RPM? |

Drhaclnstine: Engines that have a 35T motor sprocket: XL(tube frame BUELL),BLAST, and XB's(9&12) to 2001 ... From 2002 on the XB12X(not sure about other XB12's, but you can check parts books) have a 38T motor sprocket ... After the PRODUCTION RUN of TUBE FRAMES "i" have not payed too much attention to SPORTSTER's(XL) or for that matter the XB Line ... 38 - 35 = 3 teeth increase which will drop the RPM 300 to 500 PM in high gear(ie: interstate cruse'ing) ... For those of you that notice that BLAST is in HARLEY-DAVIDSON "ORANGE", well it is because it will have HARLEY-DAVIDSON emblems on the gas tank for 2010 models ... |

i have a 99 M2 uk,with uk gearing and would like shorter gearing,what xb primary would fit to do this ???is installation straight forward(just the reverse of removal)? |

I believe UK tubers were geared taller via a 58(?) tooth rear pulley instead of the US version 61 tooth rear pulley. Engine sprockets should be the same on both versions of the bike. |

btw if you'd like a 61 tooth rear pulley, I'll trade you one in return for your pulley. (the UK version is 58 or 59.. can't remember for sure) Not sure if the cost of shipping internationally would make it worthwhile, but the offer's on the table. |

Yeah, but my new pulley is a 65 tooth, so I'd like to get some of those revs back. I'm converting to XB wheels as well. |
