I want to get a rain suit for those days that I get caught in a rain storm. Can anyone suggest a good rain suit? One that is easy to store in a backpack. | ||

Ive used a two piece jacket/pant from First Gear since 01, durable, dry, it packs small enough. I like 2 piece since I will wear it over a perf jacket for cool mornings too. | ||

For the occasional unexpected shower Frog Togs will work and cost is reasonable. Not terribly durable but will keep you dry. Cycle Gear has them on sale at times. | ||

best to get something w/ reflective strips. I have Teknic 2 -pc. suit, bright yellow top, black pants, both w/ reflective strips. I've never tried 1 pc., but 2 pc. is versatile, and jacket is long enough (3/4 length). | ||

I use my old air force rain gear, very tough rubber and holds up to the wind just fine, as do the super strong zippers. it rolls up nicely and even fits in my tail bag with a spare shield if I wrap a belt around it. check out army surplus stores local to you. but Fahren is right about the colors and reflective stripes. Cammo wont get you seen in a rain storm so ride and plan accordingly. other reflective items can be donned and applied as needed. | ||

I've got the Tourmaster Sentinel jacket and pants with nomex on the lower inside legs. Did two hours in the rain yesterday and stayed warm and dry. | ||

I have Frogg Todd Road suit. I got it in High Vis green. I absolutely LOVE it. Keeps me dry, but breaths pretty well. Easy to get on and off and the quality is great. ac | ||

I agree the 2 pc suites offer a lot of flexibility . I use the Alpine Stars RJ/RP 5, they work very well, can be just darn hot in the summer time, hot enough that your not sure which would have been better, getting wet form the rain, or getting wet from all the sweat. | ||

I have a Tourmaster two-piece that I took to Sturgis. We rode in a LOT of rain, really heavy rain of the type where you turn your emergency flashers on. PROVIDED you put the suit on correctly and make sure all the zippers are sealed, it works very well. If you get sloppy you get wet. I also used the Tourmaster rain booties, which work OK. They don't cover the whole bottom of the boot so some water gets in but it beats not having anything. Putting on the rain suit on the side of the road is a real pain in the tookus. |
