Nxtr, Is it the bulb? Are you sure? Disconnect the fuel pump and jump between the Yellow/Red wire and the Black wire on the HARNESS side connector. Turn the key on and wait 10 seconds. Did the light come on? If no, replace the bulb. If it came on, either the fuel sensor or wiring needs attention. |

I am Dry now, Man it is still pouring here in the Mighty Mississippi. It ran okay today a little rough, but okay. I need to know, I turn the ignition switch check light comes on for 4 seconds then goes out and stays out. but when I hit the start switch it comes back on for 4 seconds then goes out, so I shut it down tried again and normal. I just went out and checked it again I get the 4 sec light, it went out I hit the starter and no check engine light. So I am guessing it is all good now. Anon I will do the diagnostic on the fuel pump tomorrow and let you know. Thanks again to all for the info and I promise, I will never again mention RC51 on this board. Even in the pouring rain it is still a great feeling to be on my soon to be collectors item tube frame, race kit fitted, torque monster,X1 Lightning, and the grins I get when people stare, since I have the only Buell in the area. Does anyone know where I can get information on how to fabricate my own bodywork? I'd like to make my own fenders. Something like a book I can buy or a website with a lot of how-to. John |

Hauck, I don't have your sources but I can tell you that techniques are different depending on materials. Carbon fiber is a whole different kettle of fish from fiberglass. |

Help looking up parts numbers.... Which bike do these parts fit? M0671.TA & M0612.TA. They're both headlight mounts but I don't know if they're for an S1, X2 or M2. Thanks for your help! Dennis |

Hauck, What process are you thinking of using? Hand-layed fiberglas? Chopper-gun sprayed fiberglas? Blow-molded plastic of some type? Injection molded? One-off or many sets in production? An Amazon subject search on body maintenance repair gave 22 hits: auto body repair You might also try some of the Hot Rod fabrication books. There is also a homebuilt aircraft book or two on composites, Aircraft Spruce and Specialties would have the aviation books. |

Hey Mike J, Hello from Issaquah, WA. They moved me over to the sister store last year. How is your old bike, do you still have it? What was the bike you replaced it with. I am signing up on a new XB9S today. Just as the weather turns south, or I should say, blows in from the south. It may just have to sit on the showroom for a couple of days. I still have to make room in my garage for it, as I have the old KH flat head all torn apart in there, for a total engine rebuild. Are you coming out to Seattle this Summer? Make sure you stop by and say Hi. Best Regards, Barry Mercer Eastside Buell/HD |

Barry, Got the M2 back after a major hassle with Allstate, finally had to work the deal with State Farm for a more-fair appraisal. In the mean time I picked up a white '95 S2 here. Now I'm paying and insuring two bikes. Life could be worse I guess, and probably will be if I miss any payments. Hey, if that flathead is in your way you could just box it up and send it my way. I'll let you know next time I'm out west there. And I'll bring a big box with me for the KH. |

Dennis, Anything that ends with XXXX.T fits a Blast. Those are Blast Headlight mounts. FYI, .K is an X1. I haven't pinned down exactly where it goes from there but generally .8 or .9 is the designators of pre-99 Buells. |

I am beyond considering it! I hit a wall though: I wrote a letter to Buell asking for the engineering prints for the S1 so that I could model it in 3D, and I was politely declined (as I expected). Then I got discouraged for a while because I am so nit-picky that I'd just frustrate myself trying to measure and reverse engineer the entire machine. Then, just yesterday I came across some trial 3D software that might inspire me to go ahead with the project. I am thinking that I must start this project though . . . it would be very cool! |

I was thinking sheet metal fabrication. While the buell is good for now(and hopefully will be for a few more years), I'd like to start building a custom bike. I was just tossing around the idea of hammering out the fenders myself rather than buying them, you know, to get that feeling of satisfaction. If Jesse James can do it.... |

Lake_Bueller: M0671.TA is for P3 Blast (superseded from M0671.T). M0612.TA is not in the HD/Buell Parts System; are you sure on that alphanumeric? |

Tony, I tossed the idea around as well many times in the last 4 years. I just never had the time to dedicate to doing it right. What software are you considering? -JW:> |

John, Check out the Metalshaper site. They used to offer Yahoo Groups but are currently migrating to their own system. It isn't all setup yet, nor are the messages migrated to the new system. It should take place in the next 2 weeks. -JW:> |

I am thinking of buying a 1999 S3T. The only issue I see with it is the mileage 17K. Should I be scared off by the miles? How many miles should I expect before the top end needs freshening up. thanks |

Duag, it depends on how meticulously the bike was maintained. Does the bike have a maintenance log that you can look through? An owner who cared about his bike will invariably keep records. If not, I'd recommend a compression check at the very least. |

Duag- My '99 S3 has 30,000mi. I have always used Mobile 1 since break in was complete. I have had no problems other than the rocker box gaskets. I check my compression every few thousand miles. It started at 179#/cyl and now has dropped to 125#/. Quite acceptable after 30k and the type of riding that I do. I see in the latest Fuell that ours have fairly low production numbers so they may be collectors items some day (ha ha), expecially since I don't see selling mine. Good luck, |
