Installed the Palmer bar ends and handguard extensions.
easy to install, hand me that allen wrench cat
seems to be be less vibes in the bars and the wind protection should keep me warmer.
I like how the two piece bar end holds the hand guard from rattling and coming off when you grab the bars. There is less wind on my hands and wrist's which will be nice when the weather turns cold again. Great products,Great service. Thanks Strata. |

nice looking set-up. What did it cost you to purchase it and get shipped to the United States? |

I put on a pair that included a throttle friction lock on the right one, fit with hand guards just fine. Kaoko, or something like that. Name escapes me right now, but the throttle lock is heavenly on long trips. |

I attached mine between the h-grip and the end bar, looks like yours are over the end bar. They work good in the rain also. |

Mnrider, Did you train the cat to hand you tools or did it know how to do it already? |

Is that a 'vintage' Indy Trail I see in the first pic? What is that, a 95? Thanks for the write-up. |

That cat sits on everyones motorcycle and some people don't like it. As far as handing me tools he just gets in the way. |

hi Mnrider, i just got the exact same stuff from Palmer...nice bit of kit... how did you line up the handguard extensions? i am debating which way round is best? obviously mounted from the inside, but the smaller side on the inside or outside of the handlebar? also, i think my left hand grip is too much on the handlebar, hence the extension is having a bit of a gap... i may have to pull it out a bit... thx Lars |

Cats seem to enjoy supervising mechanical work. |

Lars-First I marked the spots to drill the holes in the handguard 10mm down from the top off the h.g. then used the distance in the instructions as to how far apart.I then drilled the 3 holes,I didn't clamp the ext. to the h.g. but you could.I held the h.g. ext and measured at the middle hole to have them 40mm up from the top of the h.g. and drilled the middle bolt and put the bolt in the middle hole and tightened the middle bolt then level and measure the inside height and drilled that hole and put the bolt in.I then held the outside of the ext.to get the angle even with the h.g.,pushed it forward and drilled the outside hole.I then took all the nuts off put on blue locktite and tightened them up good. My pics are on my computer at home so I could do more pics of the install tonight. |

hi mate, thanks...i did not get any instructions only for the bar ends... anyway, would be good if you can post some detailed pics... here is my current set up...note the space on the left bar end between the grip? i think i need to loosen the rubber grip and than move it outwards and move the clutch lever & indicator switch assembly...should be too difficult... thx Lars

Guys, many thanks for helping out with the questions, etc...... Lars, really sorry but you should have received an instructions sheet - it's either in the box or in the 'Documents-Enclosed' envelope on the parcel. (Message edited by strada on July 31, 2009) |
