The starter gasket went out on my 01 M2 for good yesterday. It had been leaking for awhile. I was wondering if this is a common problem like the rocker box gaskets. I have 12000 miles on her now. (Message edited by sstlouisjak on July 30, 2009) |

Mine lasted around 13000 miles ('00 X1). I think bikes which tend to sit for a long time (like 1200 miles in 8 years) have more gasket/seal problems than the ones ridden regularly. Just an observation. |

The starter gasket is one of many common leaks on the tubers I never thought I'd get mine 100% leak free but cometic gaskets did the trick - they simply do not leak! |
