I just googled and checked a Ducati forum site and CBR sites and they are just making fun of Buell....remarks like..."A good Buell is a crushed Buell..." and also saw one that said Buell finally admits they make crappy bikes....and how ugly the bikes are...and I'm thinkin...can ya blame them for talking that way??? Just go to Google and search Honda Buell ad or Ducati Buell ad and you can see what some of these individuals are saying... |

9% doesn't sound like much but it seems there are always more leftover XBs at dealers then Blasts!?!?! |

Blasts are easier to sell, they have a much lower price point, and during high gas prices, the 74mpg rating really helps. I haven't seen one on the floor of my dealers in almost a year now. Salesmen tell me they are often sold before they hit the floor. Also need to factor in the different markets and demographic the Blast is sold for, it dosen't compete with the XB, its going against the Ninja 250/500, Sportster 883 and other similar bikes. Its typical demographic is shorter riders, new riders, and women. I picked up a used Blast a month ago for $1500, I figured for the low price, why the hell not. Worked out in my favor, I got in a wreck on my XB a few weeks later so I got something to putt around on while I play phone tag with the insurance |

Should have Googled that a week ago. Ricer boys have been picking on Buells long before this ad campaign was released. I don't see how this is related. |

What if... What if... What if.... Well I have seen the ad, heard the negative chatter and now I need to say that I never once heard Erik trash the blast, in fact he spoke very highly of it. It was just a funny way of saying it IS time to move on. The blast served it's purpose and has gone as far as it can. I saw all this when the tubers were shut down and relished in the XB line when it came out. I owned a gorgeous S2 but it was time to move on. Yes I still miss it at times, I know it has a good home with Brad(Bluzm2). Don't be so fast to judge this campaign, Erik is a great magician on top of everything else, while everyone is whining about said ad he IS going to bring out something that WILL shatter the bar that has been set. Not by others, by Buell itself. Ben p.s. any of you who are so crushed by this ad that you must give away your Blasts, I need one for my fiance to start on. Maybe this person would be so bent out of shape that you want to give away an 1125r I would be most appreciative. Unless he is coming out with another entry level bike, I think it was a bad move financially. The more money Buell makes - the more money they can put into the XBs and 1125s. |

So you think more people will buy Buells because they no longer make the Blast?? |

So you think more people will buy Buells because they no longer make the Blast?? If they don't associate the name Buell with a small, slow, single cylinder beginner bike...yeah, probably. |

I think people think those things about ALL Buells, just in v-twin form. |

Maybe now people won't ask If my XB12R is a Blast. It is just a marketing campaign. I hate the new Taco Bell commercials, but I still ate there today. |

I am not sure why Buells bother other owners. Especially Ducati. In fact, my other bike IS a Ducati. A 750 supersport to be exact. I could get a monster or streetfighter, but that would make me a squid because I'd be paying through the nose for a commuter bike with top end I'd never use (or shouldn't) and sound like the same leafblower in an aluminum can everyone else has. The XB is the most intuitive, most comfortable bike I have ridden and it kicks my Ducati's a$$ down low. Low end is much better for commuting for evasive maneuvers. I am not confident I can evade an obstacle on my Duc in nearly the same quarters. I admit I had buyers remorse once, but after riding other peoples bikes I know my brain made the right choice. To each his own, I guess, and I own a Buell. |

>>>So you think more people will buy Buells because they no longer make the Blast?? Absolutely. I think you may be confusing these two things: OBSERVATION: >>>> I think it was a bad move financially. QUESTION: >>>>So you think more people will buy Buells because they no longer make the Blast?? . . . . . >>>To each his own, I guess, and I own a Buell. I agree. I can own any bike I want and, just 3 years ago, had 5 different brands parked in the basement. All that remains are Buell. |

I guess being "in the know" (owning a Buell) makes me kind of blind to what others see??? I've made fun of the Blast myself but it never affected the way I felt about the rest of the line. |

Court, if you take a close look at my concerns, it is toward Buell getting a bad rap because of what I felt was a bad marketing move that's all. And no, no one tells me what to wear without facing the consequences. Trust me on that! These are all just opinions my friends! Some of us got pissed about it and some did not! It is what it will be to different individuals....I'll cool off from this site for awhile. In fact I think a lot of us should cool off for awhile....oops another darn opinion.... |
