At Homecoming Erik said the M2 is the least reliable Buell ever made. It didn't offend me. He just stated a fact about HIS product. My M2 has never given me a problem. Not one.

But Court will tell the M2 was the best bike Buell ever made and he could prove it.lol Funny how two close friends have totally different views and one of them was the builder. Come on Court now you have to prove it. I had one.... was a great bike.

This all proves that folks on BadWeb really ARE enthusiasts.

Strong opinions, one way or the other are great. It means we really care about Buell and our family of Buellers.

I was personally sad to the the Blast go away, but what's done is done. We're moving on into the future, and I'm totally looking forward to more improvements in the Buell lineup.

I loved my S1W, and now my 1125R is leaps and bounds better. Ten years from now, I expect to be riding a Buell that makes my 1125R look quaint.

Emotions are good, and heated discussions are where consensus is forged.

Really? I was referring to the attitudes that float around this place. It reminds me of the union thugs that try and talk down dissenters at union meetings. I have no patience for it. I may not agree with what you say but everyone should have the right to voice their opinion.

I could care less if Buell crushed all their bikes. I have never owned a Blast nor will I ever. However, I can see the point of view of those that for whatever reason purchased a Blast and felt part of the Buell community and now feel mocked by a cheap marketing ploy and for what - to impress some squid waterhead that has a 50/50 chance of killing himself before the age of 25 on a bike he has no business riding? I guess I always saw Buell as a grownup's motorcycle. You know -serious engineering - function before form and not focused on cheap parlor tricks to sell motorcycles.

That is why I do not have a problem with any of the threads pertaining to the Blast or the BoB. Opinions count, ALL of them and yes there are going to be some douche canoes popping up along the way, But this is the most passional I have seen this board about anything besides the same bull**** politics that have not changed since Henry built a better church in a long time. I have no experience with the Blast and therefore see the whole cube thing as entertaining and a distraction while it goes on hiatus for retooling. The BoB allusions to squidliness do not bother me either because apparently the old form of advertising and salesmanship was not working as well as desired and BMC is a company that must sell products to maintain their existence. Do I want to see Buell turn into the do-rag bike of the moment? No. Can I coexist with that segment of the market if it means continued existence of the brand I am loyal to? Yes( 20 year Mac user who has no desire to own a iPhone for any reason).

They are just opinions and in most cases honest ones. If they coincide with yours then good, and if they don't, then it is still good. No right, no wrong, just passion, reaction and debate.

I like it , I like you and I like this Board. That's why I keep coming back..

>> I do not think BMC needs to get your approval to publish advertising.<<

They do need my approval before I buy their bikes however, and if the advertising pisses me off it's not going to happen.

Shit, Ford blew people up in Pintos and rolled them over in the Exploder and they are still in business.

Hell, they laid one of the biggest automotive eggs ever:

I think Buell will survive.

My M2 gave me less trouble in 9 years and 45,000 miles than my 1125R gave me in the first year and 8,000 miles.

And I thought IT was unreliable! (It was...)

And I still think it's the best motorcycle ever made...

(and Court can prove it...)

I like what Frank has written. I'll admit I've been guilty of getting a little too wrapped up in this new marketing/advertising campaign, but stepping back it boils down to a few things:
I like last years brochure more than this years. That's my choice.
I liked the 1125CR released last year. New website, new brochure, same 1125CR. I still like the 1125CR.
My Buell is *my* Buell, and I love it : D.

I like what Greenlantern said too - I'm passionate about Buell, more than any other company/brand I can think of (Fender and Mopar are a waaaaaaay distant 2nd and 3rd), and I do like being able to share opinions and thoughts on BadWeb, and I like hearing others thoughts even when we get a little carried away sometimes.

cheers,
chili

Emotions are good, and heated discussions are where consensus is forged.
This is right. If there were no emotions, there would be no passion, hence no Buell enthusiasts.

I also really liked what Greenlantern wrote a while back. Whether we agree or agree to disagree, nobody is actually arguing here. We are all just stating our own opinions and points of view, each of which have validity. We provide feedback, which I am sure is not disregarded totally by the company.

It is getting a little old, but amongst all of it, we have have seen people put some real thought into what Buell really means to them personally. Why they own one? Why they are passionate about the bikes/brand?...(and an insight into Dave)

The campaign caused a reaction, and now people have come to terms with it. I applaud anyone who took the time to let everyone else know what they think.
That is what a forum is right? A collection of opinions on a set topic.

"It is getting a little old"

Without any new models to discuss, what else are we going to talk about?

It's probably too early for the 2010 homecoming threads : (

Frank, thank you for your time, and your post, please find your way back when you return.

I am a long time member (forgot/lost my previous login info) since I purchased my '98 X1. Traded that in for an '01 S3. Sold that off to pay for my '00 Road Glide. Through no fault of Buell, I am no longer able to comfortably ride any of the current Buell line-up, yet to anyone that knows me, I am the biggest fan/enthusiast/unpaid salesman.

Buell is a company that must make a profit, and I see both the Cube and BoB as opportunities to gain attention, hopefully with positive sales results.

In my humble opinion, if you are a current Buell owner, and any of the actions of the company cause you to leave the Buell community, than maybe you were just that, an owner. The rest of us will stay passionate, and be enthusiasts for as long as we can.

+1. If you are so bent over the Blast and BOB, then possibly you need to look at your passion towards the brand.
