Well I have been stuck in Hawaii for the last 3 weeks for work. Great place. Inspired by Court's picture walks I submit this lunch break from yesterday.
Parasailer
Nice view
These trees are all over. Mother Nature is awesome
Sweet pirate ship
Wife and I
Coconut anyone?
I'll take it.
Not bad for a super-zoom point and shoot
Diamond Head crater
View from the top of the crater
View from behind isn't great
Front is better
They are everywhere here
Everywhere
Beach volleyball anyone?
Seconds after this pic she rolled over forgetting her top
Kids having fun out on the pier
This is actually a high amount of coverage down here.
Hawii's finest
Everywhere
Nothing like high heels at the beach
This place is full of great views |

This place is awesome and I mean that in the most respectful way. Can not explain in words the feeling you get when there.
Thank all of you.
See it as soon as you can before it rusts away
USS Missouri
Love this pic |

I was stationed in Hawai'i for 4 years, Fook Yuen is actually really good I have eaten there before. If you are still there and haven't checked it out already hit up Dixie's in Ward Center next to Ala Moana. Damn good pulled pork and the only place on the island besides MCBH e-club that has sweet tea. They also have 32 oz. Mai-Tai's which are pretty damn good. Since I see they have you shacked up in that tourist hell that is Waikiki, escape and hit up Bellows on the windward side best damn beach on the island in my opinion and during the day you will probably be all alone. On a side note is actually pronounced with an H sound [pʰuːkɛt], been there 3 times now thanks Marine Corps. |

We are actually at the Ala Moana hotel. Wifes keep taking us to Waikiki. We have hit up north shore clockwise to Ala Moana. Missed a few beaches but explored a bunch of them. Hawaii is "cheap" right now. They announced last week that they are down $1 billion from last year in tourism mostly from the Japanese fear of swine flu. Our room is essentially half price from last year. We will have to check that place out as we are here for 3 more days and I love pulled pork and sweet tea. Wouldn't mind living here if the cost of living wasn't through the roof. Wages apparently aren't adjusted for it like you see in NY, DC etc. |

No they are not, minimum wage all the way brah. They get around the by having all of the family livining in one run down house. I had a buddy before the housing market crashed that bought a house in Ewa Beach for 200k when he PCS'd 2 years later sold for 425k. If you are in Ala Moana area check out Bikini Cantina in the Clock Tower area just down the road little bar but all the staff wear bikiki's. Not sure how the wife will like it but its just looking right? |

Saw the Bikini Cantina yesterday but we were there too early. Market seems to be coming back down. Median house price is around $300000 down from $500000 a year ago according to the guys we are working with. Been a very fun working vacation. North Shore ,or any where other than Waikiki, area appeals to me. The country as they call it. Someday we would like to move here. |

I have seen a number of 1125R's, a couple of XB's and one sweet looking S3T out here. Didn't have my camera with me when I spotted the S3T at a stop light. Pristine. Went to the HD/Buell/Kawasaki/Aprillia/Big Dog/BMC/Vespa dealer and they had a good selection of Buells but no apparrel besides HD stuff. Made sure the manager knew my disappointment in not being able to pick up a Buell shirt with his logo on the back as free advertising. Not sure it made a difference but it couldn't have hurt. |

It's about damn time they started selling buell's there. I was stuck riding a softail for the 4 years I was there. Did you check out Dixie's? If you are in the mood for philly's check out Pepper's in Kailua, not perfect but still damn good. Across the street from peppers is a little hamburger joint that is great also. |

Could not find Dixies. Ward Center seemed to be only about half full of tennants. Wish I would have checked in the phone book to see if it was still around. We had fun. Sitting in the airport to leave now. Be back someday and may not leave. |
