I've ridden out by seneca rocks a few times. Check out "Back Mountain Road" County Rd 1 out that way. Starts around Olive, WV and goes to around Edray, WV I believe.
And I'll be headed down to the campground from Columbus late Thursday afternoon. Probably leave around 4:00. That's the plan at least.
"Snub, I will be back to my home town in Northern Pa for a few days before the blessed event. I believe I am meeting up with Dottrz South of Erie and may even have to snag some of those Ohio flatlanders on the way down. We would welcome you to join us although riding plans have not yet been laid out.
I may live in East Tennessee now, but I am a Steeler fan from wayback!"
Etenn....thanks for the invite. That would be great. I'm not sure when we'll be able to get out of town just yet, but please keep me posted.
When an ambitious streak hits me I will be laying out my plans for this trip. When I get that done I will post here so if it works out for anyone else perhaps we can ride together.
Yo Don...sorry been all tied up...work and some play. Look forward to seeing all of you again...BTW, still have the hooch in Morgantown if any of you need a break/campover/brewski enroute.
Nittanyxt, bring some Clem's BBQ with ya!! I had some of that Q at the Res Ride and that alone would get me to come back to Altoona... add a few Buellers and it was one of the best weekends I've had in a long time
Mark this is Todd & Angie we made reservations at the Heritage for Friday night but we will come up to the campground Friday evening is there anything I can bring? Would it be okay to leave our truck and trailer at the campground with the others that are trailering their BUELL's so we don't have to leave it on the street I guess from the sounds of it not much parking anywhere. We need to start the count down now. Thanks
You can leave your trailer at the campgrounds... and we will keep a eye on it. I think they put in a parking lot at the top of the hill on the right as you enter the Cokely campgrounds.
is there anything I can bring? I big cooler for campfire beverages would be grate! We can pick up ice local when we make a beverage run...
My folks have dinner covered Friday night and from the sounds of it Saturday night too. Just be at the Campground at 5:30 Friday night and you will be good to go....
Just talked to Joann at the Cokeley Campgrounds... and the Boy Scouts my have our camping spot!
She is calling them to find out if they are going to show up and ask for a deposit to force their hand.... lol damn Boy Scouts!!
I'll keep ya'll posted on whats happening.... We may end up at the River Run Campground.. They will love us there!! Its first come first serve. So Gary and I will get there early if need be and snag a handful of sites...
How early is early? SD and I could help snag sites if need be. I can *cough cough* leave work early Thursday.
I love the theme song!
Is anyone bringing a camp stove or are their grills at the campsite? I'd be willing to conjure up breakfasts if there's fire on site... Bacon and mimosas for everyone! Just let me know and I'll make a trip to Sam's for breakfast yumminess.
A day without bacon is like a day without sunshine!
We're going to have a bunch of stuff (tent, sleeping bags, sleeping mats, coffee pot, etc, etc) on the bike so space will be tight. I know some people are caging it, will we be able to either pitch in for or pay for grub and beer? Also, Wlofy, your parents must have one big dinner table, how's that all gonna work out?
Mind you I'm not a detail freak, just in case the wife asks, she has been victim to the snub shoulder shrug in the past.
Snub, I can tell you now that SD and I are trailering (boo) and are bringing the following to share:
- beer (and will have the means to get more) - margarita provisions (while supplies last) - I'm sure some assorted other alcoholic beverages - blender - coffee pot and coffee - breakfast and snack type food - big canvas chairs - anything else I can think of that will fit in the truck or on the trailer
if yall that are riding have any requests, I'll be happy to pick it up en route.
Breakfast food is dependent on the availability of fire. I have a camp stove, but its one of those one burner ultra light stoves... not good for the event, in my opinion. I guess I could put the grill on the trailer, but that would be a royal pain in the ass.
her - where are we sleeping? - at the Cokely Campgrounds OR the River Run Campground.
her - where are we eating? - Friday and Saturday evening will be at my folks house. Breakfast will be at the lodge or a local eatery.... Lunch will be on the road someplace.... but ya wanna keep lunch lite.. gotta eat big at the folks house!

I was referring to past missteps with the Mrs.....not where we would be for this trip..I've kept her informed (learned the errors of my ways)
