Sorry to burst your bubble, Pammy dear... "You can never be too thin or too rich." I'm not likely to be either one any time soon! rt |

So you're rich...just not "too rich". That clarifies it for me. Thin is WAY overrated! |

Well, I agree with you on "thin"... If I were rich, my motors would have been through your shop already! rt |

Karen Carpenter was BOTH too thin and TOO RICH - she died as a result. |

There is no chance I'll ever be laid off but still, with me bringing home the same pay as I ever did it is getting real tough. The dollar just isn't going anywhere. I feel for all the unemployed. Good luck to all. |

Spidey: I am THRILLED to hear the good news. I have never been fired, laid off, downsized or kicked out that a better opportunity, one I'd likely never have pursued, did not reveal itself. Take a day. Shake it off. Polish everything that's good about you. I've known you a long time. You're smart, honest, resourceful, focused and hardworking. Those attributes never go out of style. Prepare for something exciting. Congratulations, Court |

I wouldn't have said it if I didn't feel the same way. Besides, just ask Tony, I'm always giving him a hard time. He knows I love him... I've even seen him in a pink thong, have you?

Yep, all the usual positive thinking stuff from me too Spidey. I have been in the same unfortunate position a few times over the past few years, but you finally find a better groove to fit into, and the world is as it should be again. I have done some things I never expected to do, and am the better for it. I actually have focus now. It makes you think about what it is you really actually WANT to do, instead of just what you have been doing. Good luck. |

I've even seen him in a pink thong, have you? No, and I don't want, nor intend to! Sorry to hear about your layoff... Sucks. In my current employment, I made sure to make myself indispensable. I learned every aspect of the job that I could. So i will be the last one laid off. Thanks to HD & Buell, I've been REALLY busy this 2nd quarter of the year. But there isn't much beyond the current jobs in the shop. |

Isn't this the time you double up on work outs and go pro? The pro hockey league players seem to do fairly well around here! |

Isn't this the time you double up on work outs and go pro? Well trying out for a pro-team is a lot harder than you think and most charge you over 200$ just to try out and that is a group tryout... |

Been "RIF'd" 2x since 1990 and it SUCKS!!! The main reason I took this job is "Job Security". Even if they close the doors tomorrow, I'll be here for 2-5 years making sure everything gets cleaned up properly. Neil S. Environmental Health and Safety Manager. (Once you go green.....) |

Fez, I just asked my wife if she'd like to move to Montana. She said "Oh Hell No!" I guess that means, thanks for the tip, but we're fine in the Great South East. |

My girlfriends 18 year old daughter just finished a Pharmacy Tech course at a local college, she then went on to pass the state exam to become certified.....she found a job listing and arranged the interview. Her mom went out and spent about 100.00 on a new, business casual outfit..black dress pants, a purple blouse and a light over coat. I'm sick yesterday so I'm at home on the couch, and in comes Maggie to get ready for her big interview. She's in her room for about 30 minutes and OUT COMES MISS NEW ADULT..READY TO TAKE ON THE WORLD!!.... In a white pair of stretch capri pants, that look like Johnny Depp would wear in Pirates, and of course you have to wear a black thong with those and a light purple tank top so low your nipples would get sunburnt..and the highlight....a black push-up bra that you could see the lace pattern of. She comes home crying saying......"that bitch lady who did the interview had it out for me." I said, "too bad it wasn't a 21 year old guy, you'd have the job without saying a word." Anyways, I hope you find it easier to find work than she did Tony, and if you decide to wear white pants to the interview, leave the pink thong at home. |

Don't get me started in interviewing techniques, strategy and appearance. I got to see an interesting cross section during my last 3 years at school. Some breezed into 6 figure jobs . . . others may never work in their lives. They simply don't get it. |

I'm not sure I could leave the south. I tried a couple of times, but I found, I'd rather be a poor Southerner than a well off anything else. I guess it's just in my blood. I still live in the South, but miss the Appalachians something awful. You can take the man out of the mountains... |
