So...Has anyone been able to ascertain definitively if the "Kit" includes the RSS, fan shroud AND exhaust pipe heat deflector, for $120 - or are they separate items? 'Kit' seems to imply all 3. Just wonderin. j |

A couple of guys have posted that they've ordered the kits already. Hopefully somebody will have one by the end of the week and we'll know. |

We will be expecting a photo of the parts in the kit. Thanks. |

Hopefully the Buell folks anticipated the level of retro-interest and produced about 5,000 extra kits. About $600,000 worth. Once the first Uly rider posts - "Hey... this kit really works!!" It'll look like a Walmart stampede for $99 Ipods. |

I'm currently waiting on mine to ship. Full review with photos will follow. I plan to mount it on my 06 Uly and test fit it to an 06 XB12Ss. |

I'm on the sidelines too but will pull the trigger as soon as feedback rolls in. I just bought the Spec OPS Maximum set but they don't keep the heat off of my leg as much as I had hoped. Just a quick aside. Is this heat problem as prevalent in other XB's? To me it seems to at its worse on the Ulys but I don't really understand why. I really only read the Uly stuff so I don't hear to much about the other bikes. |

Alershka- I don't think it is as big of a deal on the other XB's. I believe the way the underseat area on the Uly is arranged forces more of the air against the bottom of the seat and possibly restricts the airflow somewhat. I'll bet the kit will make a big difference. I'm very interested about the ECM re-programming too. |

As soon as we have a price book download (including the new part numbers), I'll have one ordered for my '06. Heat is greater on the Uly, partially because of the underseat area, and partially because the seat hangs over the sides of the rails, "insulating" them and keeping airflow off of them. Rails are the same as an Ss...but the seat itself and taillight bridge are the difference. Don't think I'll have anything to report on the ECM download though, since I run a race ECM to go with my Drummer.... |

By the above statement can we assume you work at a Buell dealer? If so I would be interested in how the ECM update will be distributed. And/or, will the reflash be included in the retail price of the kit? |

I ordered the kit Saturday for my 08 XB12XT. Gateway HD/Buell is going to use me as the test subject for the kit and the ecm upgrade. So as soon as they get it in I will be sure and let everyone know what's up |

Sweet! Do you have an estimated arrival for the kit yet? Like somebody said, I hope they have plenty of them in stock and ready for shipment. |

Come on Ratbuell, how is it that some punk on the internet can get the new part numbers before a dealer? |

I was on the Buell website Saturday morning pulling part numbers from the catalog and they were already in Gateway's system by the time I got there at noon. Kit should be here sometime next week |

My prediction: by end of next month they will have sold at least 1000 kits - then a 2nd surge if folks attest to any appreciable heat difference. I was going to wait but needed oil/air filter anyway. so while I was there @ the dealer already, what the heck... |

I am interested in the kit also for my Firebolt. I would like to know will it only fit the Uly? Will only some components for the other bikes or none? Also how does the update comfort ecm affect power output? |

*I* have the part number, it's on the website and I verified it through h-dnet.com. It is valid, and real, and available to ship. Our store's *computer system* doesn't know yet what it is, so my store can't order it. Yet. Our IT guy is sleeping on the job somewhere and we don't have the price book update I mentioned above, that includes the '10 part numbers. As soon as IT gets off their...but for real now. I'm technically a salesperson but my business card says "Buell Sales, Parts and Service". I have to do IT stuff now too? SOMEbody better start cutting me a bigger check every 2 weeks! For the flash...my *guess* is, it'll be an update available through digital tech just like the running updates for any other bike. HD does them for the baggers, if you want the "torque curve modification" flash, or in the early '08s if you wanted to add the (now standard) rear cylinder shutoff feature. AFAIK, we don't charge for the flashes...at least, we never have in the past. My guess on the short wheelbase bikes is...it won't fit. Frame is different, angles are different, mounting points are different. Once we get EPC for the '10s (Electronic Parts Catalog) I'll know the part number for the OEM RSS on a short wheelbase bike as well. *That* should fit just fine. Hell, even a frame puck doesn't interchange between a 54" bike and a 52" bike. (Message edited by ratbuell on July 28, 2009) (Message edited by ratbuell on July 28, 2009) |

I ordered kit # M1907.1AK from California/Buell today. The parts guy said it was shipping from "the vendor" and should be there in 2 weeks. $132 inc/LA county sales tax 9.75%! |

Ratbuell- What do you mean by "torque curve modification"? I assume it is a reflash..? Also is the cylinder deactivation for heat control? sorry fellas I'm not trying to hijack. (Message edited by speedfreaks101 on July 28, 2009) |

I've lived just fine without this "comfort kit" for the past 53 years. I imagine I shall wait until I read from enough of you that it is worth it. Does anybody have a clue whether or not the 06 ULY is to get reflashed for the speedometer controlled fan?? |

Decent riding gear solves any heat issues. Get some nice leather jeans and it's all good. |

Dear Dealer: Back in November of 2006, we offered our customers a performance upgrade that would enhance the drive characteristics of their 2007 Twin Cam vehicles and offered a refined calibration of the Electronic Fuel Injection system for original equipment (OE) motorcycles, Custom Vehicle Operations (CVO), and all street legal calibrated vehicles. This communication is being sent to you for two reasons. One, not as many customers have responded to this offer as we anticipated. As you know, the refined calibration this program covers will smooth the torque curve application in a manner that minimizes high shock loads to drive train components, which could cause engine damage. We want to provide our mutual customers with every opportunity to enjoy a high level of satisfaction with their motorcycles, and believe the benefits this calibration upgrade offers is one way to do just that. Rear cylinder deactivation is for heat control, yes. 0 vehicle speed and 0 throttle position equals the ability to disable the rear cylinder. As soon as the TPS sees a value over 0%, the cylinder is reactivated automatically. Deactivation can be done manually, or will automatically engage if temp sensors reach a certain threshold. Disengagement is automatic no matter what. |
