I talked to the Buell guy at my dealer this morning while picking up a new clutch cable. He didn't have a clue about the ad or the 2010 Blast. He's going to the dealer meeting, I'll touch base with him after. That is a harsh ad, makes me think something awesome is in the works. What's on your wish list? Liquid cooled Rotax thumper with fuel injection, adjustable suspension, and make it all lighter. That's what I want to see, make it for $4k and I'll buy one NOW. |

Honestly, I don't think Buell is gonna release a new BLAST. I think HD is keeping it and will continue to produce them as RE bikes. I think they will release some new RACE BIKE like they said in that F'd up ad. We can't forget that there are 2010 BLAST at dealerships that don't say Buell on them. HD is too smart to get rid of there beginner RE bike, what other bike would RE use if that was the case? I would like to see an updated BLAST but I just don't think it's in the works... |

I hate to see the bike go, I hope Erik can keep it going. I'd like to see more suspension travel or preload for the rear. FI would make a little more power( but at what cost). An overall update on the looks would help... I still want one. |

FWIW: Bolting on an XB top end makes an extra 7hp (appx.results may vary) and gets better mpg and its all current factory parts I also think that if BMW is using the Rotax in their 650, I dont know how that would fly if Buell used it too. It was also rumored that BMW was going to a different engine in that bike, perhaps a downsized 800 powerplant it uses in the F800GS or just ditching the 650 altogether. |

My wife was hoping to get a new blast this year. I was hoping they would add some fuel injection. Instead they discontinued the line. The blast fills a Niche and sells. Does buell not like selling bikes? |

Do you think that maybe there is trouble in paradise? Maybe Eric is a little ticked at harley for buying MV Agusta--Maybe Harley is a littled miffed at Eric for going with Rotax, rather than doing something cool with the V-rod engine for his bikes. Maybe there are frowney-faces at the top of both companies, especially considering the sales picture of the present economy. |

DISTURBING!!! Has anyone been on Buell's web site and seen the carnage? Go to the site and it's somewhere under the heading 'New 2010 Blast'. Have tissue or a barf bag close at hand. I actually cried. Then my husband laughed at me. I ask you, what I saw was akin to to someone throwing puppies in a trash compactor. Not to say the Blast is cute like a puppy, but what I saw was just plain disturbing. |

You are not alone, a great many reasonable people are disturbed by it. (some of us were already disturbed though) Seriously though, I havent seen this many posts about the Buell Blast in such a short time, ever. It would take you several hours to read them all. Be warned if you do, some are not complimentary. |

"Seriously though, I havent seen this many posts about the Buell Blast in such a short time, ever. It would take you several hours to read them all. Be warned if you do, some are not complimentary." That's pretty much what I've been doing, and what burns me the most is that there is alot of other Buell riders who are rippin on us Blasters. It's as if they have this Bully type attitude to a sibling and Dad (EB) is encouraging them. |

I kinda want a "Blast End Table." You have to admit, the way they still advertise it in their line-up is pretty funny. Have you seen the specs on the blast cube? |

Yes, its all pretty darn funny. Kinda like when somebody trips and falls and it looks really bad, but at the same time really hilarious? Sometimes you gotta wait a little while before the jokes fly or it becomes funny. To put it in perspective think about the guy who just got his license, just passed the MSF course and is going down to the dealer tomorrow to pick up his Brand New Blast that he's already paid for. And now he sees the new ad campaign. Worst possible customer satisfaction scenario. Having already been the butt of jokes since 2000, the, I'm sure, renewed interest in Blast bashing is going to get old real quick. Not currently a "feel good" moment in Blast/Buell ownership. |

THIS IS NOT A BLAST BASH!!!That being said, I'm pretty sure things could be much worse.. Suck it up, get over it. We all chose to ride this particular brand for a reason and those reasons vary. Who really cares what's said about our bikes. It shouldn't be a popularity contest. At some point everybody will be the butt of somebody elses joke and more than likely everybody has made someone else the butt of their joke. Grow some thick skin and let it go. The Blast was a fine bike, no question about it. |

By Disturbed. The Blast was/is a great bike. I have been riding an XB12Scg, and am looking for an XB12 or 9R as a dedicated track bike. But after seeing that awful video I'm taking back from my daughter (she just bought an XB12S) and keeping forever my 2000 Blast. It's going to be our 'garage mascot' to be kept in top condition and ridden occasionally, and loaned to folks who want to try riding for the first time! I love that stupid little blast. It will be like the cute little pony that lives in the race stable keeping the high-strung racehorses company and calm Alisha yeah, crazy I know. |

WOW! Somebody got all worked up. A little hostile? I got over it 2 days ago. Now I'm having fun with it. But I do have empathy for the the Blast riders (like the aforementioned new rider above-true story) who dont have a couple XB's in the garage. I've got very thick skin. Once again, like most of the twin owners, you dont get the point."We (Blast riders) have fully expected the Blast to end for several years now, culminating with the end of production or a very serious update or redesign. Its just that it was done in an offensive manner." We're talking about a lot of people who got offended. Of course its not the end of the world. Its just a motorcycle. They'll make more. But dont these people get to have their say and just a few minutes to take it all in? I'm pretty sure if they did this to one of your XB's, you'd get the point. But you came over to the Thumper (aka Blast) forum, why? |

Nothing hostile about it. Nobody crushed your blast and nobody crushed mine, just as it won't be my XB when the company decides to change it up. I'll still be able to ride mine the very same way present blast owners can ride OURS. I just feel people are overly sensitive about too many things. I'm almost offended that some people are offended by someone else's offensiveness. Don't take it personal, it won't change anything. There's no reason to get upset. We should all be excited to see what the line-up holds for model years 2011 and beyond. I came over here because there's info that pertains to MY blast. |

Things change guys, the Little Kid was ready to ride to the factory when he first saw the video! All I can say is I have a feeling that there is something new coming down the line that will replace the Blast. I can see it now, Erik with his big grin introducing the Blast we all want and have been begging for for the last 10 years. I can almost hear hear him saying "In all honesty this is to appease all the Blasters over on the badweb that inundated me with emails, calls and letters, for all those years, Blasters, your New Blast is ready, and it is a really cool bike that even though is a little smaller in stature will give you all the preformance you have been asking for in a stock Blast! 17" wheels, 500cc, single, 45hp, locomotive like torque, and the gret handling that we all have come to expect from a Buell." |

The 2010 Blast is available as a "Riders Edge" bike and by special order for purchase to the general public (though they've been reported on showroom floors). The Blast is still being made, but Buell is no longer claiming it. Erik Buell has decided to go back to Buells racing roots and this was marketings 'clever' way of distancing Buell from the Blast. Most Blast affecionados believe it was in poor taste. Last I know of the Blast is an orphan. Not a Buell and not a Harley There have been several hundred (at least) posts about this on Badweb. Read them if you wish. You may find comradorie or it may just piss you off. |
