Just got home from a long roadtrip that went really well. Thought I'd stop by the factory to thank them on the way home. Sadly 351 miles from East Troy the throttle shaft decided to split. Managed to get it fixed at Hals (thanks Donna!) and continue to WV. Next morning in Toledo, the ignition fuse pops and I troubleshot it down to the fuel pump (connector at least). The low-fuel light had been erratic for the last couple of hundred miles as well. Is it a fair guess that I'm enjoying the wire chafing problem (06 Uly) as described by Sanchez? http://www.badweatherbikers.com/buell/messages/142 838/442427.html?1236781570 I know it may sound unconvincing, but the bike has been terrific. Just wasn't so cool to show up in a big rent-a-truck stuffed with a Uly!

Yes, that is the program you will need to follow. I did the same thing a couple of months ago. Fairly easy job. It would be best to have an extra O ring or two. I used vasoline to lube them. One of the factory ones was folded out of its groove and cut, never leaked though. This is the time to get an internal fuel filter and a pickup screen also. I did a detailed explanation with more pictures also. It is in XB Board a couple of months ago. |
