Well, as one who still only aspires to an 1125r I think the 2010 remains a great bike with one notable exception. The white with blue trim is gone in place of all white.
I might be heartbroken.

IMO I think their are no Belly Pan listed for the street bike kit is due to a heat issue. Can you imagine how hot it would get in stop and go city driving around the muffler especially in California and the European models with the Cat in the muffler. Look at a picture of the new BMW from the front notice the open bottom got to be a reason. What we need is a nicer looking muffler, the days of the after market muffler for CHEAP are coming to an end.

It says new rear caliper design.

Also the swingarm description says "new." Not sure if they mean a new design or what.

"And they're not out to make friends... love it!"

OR expand their customer base...... to ensure growth and profits. Sounds like a 'going out of business' plan to me.

But they are expanding their customer base. They're attracting people like me: intelligent and open-minded people who are unbiased by having been steeped in the traditional mindset for too long (no offense, I'm sure that you're a nice person, outside of this forum)--- people like me who are excited that a company like Buell even exists in America. There are lots of us of out there...

Hand built bikes with so much innovation? Geez, if you don't get it, you never will. Or you need to get re-gruntled...

My 2 cents: Yeah it sucks Buell only slapped on some graphics onto their flagship bike for 2010, BUT they are offering a simple $500 fix to overhaul the looks if you are so inclined. Get over it. Like many here I've had ups and downs with Buell(s) on and off the racetrack but over the years I've come to have immense respect for Erik and his visionary company.
Here is a guy who is putting real passion into his motorcycles; the 1125 being the epitome of this passion. He doesn't care if you like it or not and frankly neither do I. Buell is creating an entire new subdivision of bikers; REAL ONES. Not the black leather clad 'all show no go crowd' NOT the 'flash plastic fantastic uber poser sporty bike' crowd either. Belly up in two years? Not a chance.

A production run of three years is not excessive. As an owner, I like the fact that my bike isn't obsolete already. I love my '08, it's as fun of motorcycle as I've ever owned. Everyone who gets to chat with me when I'm out riding will know how much I think of it.

+1 on the new parts/accessories catalog.

I agree. The auto industry will make a model run for several years with only subtle changes.

On the flip side it is always cool to see the new changes when they occur. : )

In regards to the oil level sight glass: Any input as to whether or not the bike has to be perfectly vertical in order for it to be accurate or is it calibrated to work with the bike on the sidestand?

I've put 4000mi on my '09 since the first of June and have one complaint. I'ts tough for my 6'1" 220lb frame to achieve a consistant tuck but that may be my fault for not remodding the grips&pegs. Outside of that its been a real thrill exploring the abilities of this machine. It is so unique, fast , powerful, there is plenty of there, there,, I'm more than satisfied!

I'd like to know if the oil sight glass can be retro-fitted.

Metalrabbit - I'm 6'3" and put the Ulysses pegs on my bike before my last big ride...HUGE difference!

http://www.buell.com/_media/images/bikes/sportbike /1125R/colors/2010/white-x3-r.jpg shows the old engine? I see no sight glass on it. I assume it would be on the right side of the bike, but nothing there?
Left side for reference.

No bar risers, Just opening up the bend in my legs that 1" helped a lot as far as taking pressure off of my arms/wrists.

Why can't I see the sight glass? Is that a pun? ; )

D_adams I'd be curious if the pictures on the web site are "Pre production" pictures.

Don't think I have ever seen one that is viewed with the bike on a side stand. Bikes don't always sit the same on their side stands and readings may not be consistent. If a bike is balanced upright and the oil levels out, it's usually consistent.

I just got done emailing my dealer. I'm looking for a 2009 1125CR and asked him what kind of deals they'll have to push them out since the 2010's are announced. He said nothing yet because he was told Buell won't produce any 2010 bikes during the fourth quarter this year. So I guess it'll be awhile until we actually see any in person.

here in italy - and in europe I suppose - we have a xb12sx too. Nothing special. Just a xb9sx with a xb12 engine. A lot of people missed the xb12s here. And a loto of people still do not accept the '25.

production run of three years is not excessive. As an owner, I like the fact that my bike isn't obsolete already.

I totally agree with that. And I add: and my bike will not have a big loss of value in the market for the next 2 years!

On the italian site we have some awful stickers on the pods too.

It was interesting that Erik spoke about the Blast not being innovative, even though it had fuel in frame, underslung muffler, ZTL, etc. that all the other Buells have.

I didn't like riding it, although it fit my wife well when she was learning, and for a regular bike too.

Maybe Erik's going to announce a liquid cool blast replacement on Monday. It would make more sense to launch a SV650 type bike now -- works for beginners and for those who want to be frugal. BMW 800s are doing well, Triumph as the Street Triple, and Ducati Monsters ~700 are what they sell most of. Time for a good, mid size, beginner friendly liquid cooled buell!

Correct me if I am wrong, but all of the 1125R/CR models (all being 2009) at my local dealer have the exact same spools on the swing arm. I could be wrong. But I would be almost certain...very certain.

So I do not think this is new.

guys:

I sold the Blast a few years ago, but I'm pretty sure it had an underslung exhaust, fuel in frame, ZTL front brake, kevlar belt, etc.

Help me out -- what did it (not) have?
