Im not sure about that thing either. I wonder how it would look with an aftermarket exhaust.

Yes it does however that is the same part that was in last years race parts catalog.

I'm not shy, I'm willing to try it. So I have an email in to my preferred parts dealer already looking into when I can order and when will I see the parts. I was set on purchasing the full race set however I do not need the fairing and for double the coin, why?

with the exception of not having the belly pan i think it makes the 1125 look like it should have in the first place

I think it looks GREAT, but definitely needs a belly pan to keep from looking like a part fell off the bottom.

This looks like it is the same shape fairing as the carbon fiber unit that was traveling around with the Buell setup at the IMS show early this year. Biggest perk? They realized $2500 was too much for a carbon unit to appeal to most folks, so now they offer this one in plastic for an affordable $500!!

I need to see either better pics or in person before I can decide. I'm glad Buell listened to us on this one tho offering something for the street, ready to bolt on for those of us not into fabricating brackets and stuff.

I think it looks good. Price is okay too.

Any world on mechanical updates for '10?

It is my understanding that they don't come off. It was explained to me that they go "right over" the existing pods. Is this true? I can only say this is what I was told at the test session Tuesday.

If it is like the pacebike they go right over top of the pods.

Bikejunky, is there more than one belly pan to choose from? I saw the fiberglass race model (no kickstand cutout or mounting hardware), but haven't seen another...PLEASE tell me I overlooked one that will bolt right up?!?!?!?

Ponti1 is correct, there is only one belly pan that I saw. For the price it is worth a shot. The side panels are already color matched which is a savings for those of us with black bikes.

LOL...Actually, I was hoping to be incorrect. It sure would be great to find a part number that specifically says something to the effect of

"Designed for street use. Recommended for use in conjunction with M2296.1AMMW Fairing Lowers Kit for '08-up 1125R and '09-up 1125CR."

That sucks. ONLY midnight black? Does that mean I have to wait a year for Racing Red??

Any photoshoppers want to give me a preview of what a racing red 1125R would look like with the black side panels? And how about a second photo of the bike with the panels color matched?

Jamiec, they say it's a paintable surface. A good body shop should be able to scan your red plastics and mix up a paint to match it.

I saw that but I'd still like to see what the bike "might" look like.

The problem with a painted surface comes from what may happen if it gets scratched. One of the reasons I like the fact that Buell's bodywork panels are molded in color... makes it really easy to hide scratches.

Hey, that was ONE innovation introduced in the Blast models! The other was having the ENTIRE underbelly taken up by the muffler and relocating the shock to a more traditional location (something they used when they built the XB models and then the 1125 models).

How can they say there was nothing innovative about the Blast? Sorry... subject for a different forum.

I know what you mean, I was just referring to the waiting a year part.

Zac has been sent on a mission to get better pics at the dealer show. Hopefully he'll be able to get some good pics that can be photo shopped red.

I'm on the other side of the fence here, I prefer painted surfaces as opposed to color impregnated plastic. For me the plastic shows scratches and is tough to get out if at all. Buffing painted surfaces for me is relatively easy. This is why there is more than one flavor of ice cream. : D

I agree with you Puzzled. When I had my CityX painted it was much easier to keep looking good. On the other hand, I was much more careful with it tho too.
