Susan, The speedo should be an easy fix. The older models had a speed sensor that is known to have issues. The newer replacement is updated and available through the dealer.(though they might have to order one for ya ) I'm just up in Williamsburg, and I'd be happy to help if you need it! Tank p.s. Welcome! (Message edited by tank_bueller on July 25, 2009) |

Did a little digging for ya. Part # 74431-01B is the updated sensor. From the dealer it's going to be about $75. I found it here for $64.95... LINK! |

Thanks! yea I did some internet surfing looking for info and a lot of sites mentioned that it was most likely a sensor. That is not a bad price to fix if I can get some help figuring out how to replace it. I'm so ready to take a ride out more than just around the neighborhood! |

Mike, had a great time, now they just need to clean up the roads down there and I need to get some new shoes for the 1125. Jimmy |

Ah, that would have been awesome IF it wasn't raining and IF I had a sitter. Thanks anyway. Maybe this weekend if I get that speedometer fixed. Just got tags and title today and gonna call and get my insurance tonight. =D |

Holy crap motorcycle insurance is ridiculously cheap. Yay for progressive! i kinda thought it would be the exact opposite. The guy who set me up with all my insurance stuff told me he rides a 2003 Buell Lightning. He said Buell's don't have to pay extra for being sports bikes. They get classified as cruisers because of the HD engines? Pretty cool yea? |

i got progressive too, and they are dirt cheap especially for someone with a rash of documented violations. but do the insurance companies cut the 1125's a break too? ...or are have they wised up? my insurance premium is evidence to that they haven't wised up (Message edited by nillaice on July 28, 2009) |

Ok, I'm gonna order the part! Come to Kelly's for lunch! We have a $7.00 express lunch menu with some amazing food on it. I'm not just saying that cos I work there either. Matt, that sucks. I guess it's the price to pay to have an awesome fast ride? =D |

No, of the 3 I called, the only one I found that cut the 1125 a break is Dairyland. |

I was with Dairyland since 03, I think. When I bought my girls Blast @ SSHD, it was suggested to call Harley Insurance. I used my current policy to set the coverages and they went to work, a little later Harley Ins called and had me a policy for just over $100 cheaper. So I figured it was a crappy ins company with out comparable limits, it was Dairyland w/exactly the same coverage. One of the guys I ride with called for insurance on his touring BMW, and they saved him more, but this time it was from Dairyland to Progressive. Its a free call... |

Ok, I bought that part a few days ago, but I may send it back. Decided eff it and took the bike up to Hoss's tonight and the speedometer worked fine. It was a little jumpy though so maybe the sensor is going bad. On the upside, wooooo that was fun!!! |

I think now is a good time to give me a lesson on where things are on the bike. I definitely don't have a clue where to look for these wire connections. This is obvious based on the fact I didn't even know my seat lifted up. =p Don't want to be a helpless girl cos one day you guys won't be around. |

Jason, Can I try to catch up with you tomorrow afternoon before 2pm. Text me at 7732090354. Thanks. I got Dairyland but may switch to Progressive if it is cheaper. Dairyland was $73 a month but went up for some reason. I have to call SSHD and talk to them because I was told that it would not go up after that last claim. |

David, I got something in the mail from Dairyland stating that their premiums had gone up due to some VA state law or something...my bike will be paid off next month, and the insurance expires next month, so I'm going to let it run out and go with Progressive...it's about $200 cheaper per year for the same coverage. |

Thanks for all the help offers! I don't have the part yet. I don't know how long it will take to get here, but I ordered it on Tuesday night. I'm not sure what's happening with my weekend yet. What time Saturday? I may have some spare time on Saturday. =) I'll get together with either you or Matt at some point. Thanks again. |
