coffee table.... Just got this 2000 "BLASTKET" case from Jimduncan69. The starter was shot and the bike was/is in a state of disassemble... but I hope to have it back on the road soon... I need a primary gasket... and I know when I go to the local dealer and ask for a primary gasket for a 2000 Blast... well, we know what the answer will be so what else will do the job?? XB? Sportster??

Since that's an XB9 motor minus a cylinder, The primary gaskets should be the same. Try posting this in the Blast forum, bet they know for sure but I'll also bet I'm correct. |

Looks like a Vance & Hines to me. Someone probably changed the packing 'cause the rivets are different. G |

The gasket for a 2003 XB9S will Not work. I had an spare gasket for my 9 that I thought I could use on my gf's 2001 blast. However, when I compared them there was 1 one! bolt hole at the top that did not match. That was the only difference. I'm 100% sure if you go to a Buell dealership they will have, or be able to get, a gasket for a 2000 Blast. I mean they better be stocked up on parts if they want to keep all these Rider's Edge Blasts running indefinitely. |

The gasket is not a problem Mark...all year model blasts use the same gasket. It is the same gasket as an XB except for one hole at the top. In the thumper forum, read up on how to adjust the primary..the service manual is wrong...it will end up too tight if you follow the manual. |
