So what was all that talk about the RSS hindering the air flow to the rear cylinder? Sounds like the same story that HD had with syn. oils. Doesn't work until the factory starts selling the product. |

Yea, I remember Buell emphatically denying the efficacy of the right-side scoop. The left side has also been redesigned. All the XB's have this update. |

Aftermarket still looks better... Uly has a bigger one...

The factory one is designed still to direct air to the Fuel rail but still direct air to the rear cylinder. The aftermarket one just directs airflow to rear cylinder. The factory one actually will be better. It may not look better but it will be better. |

what do you think Abe says about this? |

I remember Abe's biggest gripe was a RHS the same size of the left, to me the factory one seems smaller so I guess it works? |

How about the 2nd O2 sensor in the front header! Now that, along with the RHS and the upgraded fan ducting and rider heat protection is a natural upgrade. Husky |

I, for one, am glad that the RSS debate is over. I'm just sorry that we'll have to endure the "I told you so!" crowd in the process. |

Along with the better air flow there is also a recalibration that will also retro. Both of these items should have quite an effect. |

Note above - the RSS includes a *different* LSS. In other words...they *changed* the whole airflow bit in order to get the package to work. The kit for Uly also includes a fan duct, heat shield and recalibration. The recal tells me, the engineers noted a difference in fan sensor perceived temps (i.e. more airflow to sensor equaled lower sensor temps which result in inaccurate fan operation and improper cooling efficiency), and recalibrated the fan curves so it would work accurately. READ the copy. |

As Dana so astutely points out, the new OEM right side scoop is a lot different than those being sold in the aftermarket, not to mention the changes to the air ducting elsewhere. So Ted, you best save that crow for your own dinner. |
