Some of you seen some of his work from the 25th Buell Homecoming. When he painted a XB set for Erik. This is a Kawasaki H1 he did. Kept it Retro. I did the body work for him as it was a mess.

It was just cleared. Tomorrow we'll wet sand it and buff it out. My buddy is going to love this. I didn't think I'd get the tank straight. It was so covered with little dings. But its just like brand new but better. |

Dana, I owned a H1 and when the paint started to fade, I took it apart and to a body shop to have painted "Candy Apple Red".It was a good looking red but it didn't have the factory lettering or the stripes on it and I never really liked it after the paint job. But that one your son painted looks great! I just wished I would have done mine like the original paint looked. |

Mike I think hes working on a helmet next and thats it for the Summer. Back to school for his senior year. Sorry to say but I keep him focused on school. Hes shooting to go to www.miad.edu/ . These paint jobs are alot more time consuming when hes juggling school, work, etc etc. If he does some work for anyone its usually unplanned. |

This H1 will smoke a H2. Lets just say a company by the name of Purple Haze breathed on it. |

Don't get me wrong the Pete I like the 750 better. This bike is actually a KH400. The frame was set up by some other company to hold the 500 powerplant. Something about the 400 chassis was better then the others I guess. The bike is fast though. |

Too bad your son's not in the biz -- my H2 will be needing a repaint once I sort the functional end. File this under "stupid prior owner tricks": My tank paint developed a bubble -- after peeling off the paint, I realized that the p.o. had drilled 3 holes in the tank to pull a dent, and then instead of sealing the holes, merely Bondo-ed over them and repainted. Kid you not -- you can still see the three Bondo "plugs" in this shot:

And as far as "better chassis", the difference is between limp spaghetti and al dente.... Still wishing tomorrow brings a Buell 2-stroke streetbike... 10 years straight... |

I actually had 2 big dents on both sides of that tank. Drilled some holes, had them welded closed, smoothed out the welds and then some body filler. The tank is straight as a arrow. I bet I have 7 solid hours in shaping it again. |

My first street bike was the 400cc version. I had a lot of fun on that bike. Rode it illegally without a drivers lic for 2 summers before I turned 16. |
