Rainman; to help you get through the wait until the new models are announced at the Dealer Show, ride on up to Hagerstown, MD this Saturday and watch the Half Mile. |

Blasts are being collected Two by Two and returned to the mother ship Something new this way comes (alright one of those is a tuber, sorry) * No Blasts would have been crushed, mangled or destroyed in this ad copy (Message edited by cityxslicker on July 23, 2009) |

We've got two days. I can wait that long. There are still folks pissed that Buell stopped making the tube frame Buells. When the XB's slip over the horizon, there will be folks who scream bloody murder. The Blast has been a great work horse for MANY years. There will STILL be fans long after the bike ceases to be produced (under the Buell banner). If there is a modern, water cooled, more powerful, better packaged replacement, I can't wait! |

Ive been dipping in and out of this thread and Im going with my first take on this. Nobody would take out an ad to let everybody know that they stopped making something. Its clearly a two part ad that will reveal a new improved blast. I just cant see the blast leaving the Buell line and its waaaayyyy overdue for an update. In these economic times it totally makes sense that Buell would push the cheapest bike to draw you in. The ad has clearly worked. People are talking and paying attention, awaiting an answer. The ad was left confusing on purpose. I believe the Blast will sport more than bold new colors. |

620 Ducs where lunch in the twisties for my Blast, and Duc 620 hunting used to be a favorite Blast past time for Blastards like myself - lol - now that its a coffee table, I guess I'll just park it in my living room. I'm sorry, I've owned a 620 Monster and a Blast. Both nice bikes, but the Blast doesn't compare in the speed and handling department. |

I have no problem with replacing the Blast or building something better. Heck, with two kids in college and 75 percent job security, I won't be able to buy a Blast replacement for at least four years, so it's all moot. Nope, it's the ad I have an issue with ... that and all the freakin' crap I'm getting about crushing my bike. Now, if you'll excuse, I guess I better go get used to it and get over it. PS, Hagerstown sounds great, but I'm working an MSF course all weekend! Paying college tuition, ya know (Message edited by Rainman on July 23, 2009) |

Everything comes to an end. Unfortunately, the ad company has chosen to immortalize that ending with a cube of Blast. |

I like the idea of it! And I started on a Blast. Having a small CC entry bike is a great idea, but the Blast just didn't get any respect. I think the tide Buell has turned deserves a better starter bike than the Belast. |

I was really looking at an m2 or s1 as my next purchase. But if buell throws a rotax 450 in a Blast I may have to reconsider. At least take a test ride. |

Kal72 - lol - my bikes are not stock, and in the back part of 35, the smaller you are the faster you will go, the endless transitions are sweet, then coming back kicking down 9 for lunch, then back up 9 to 35 to home, what tags me all the time was the supermoto 450s, but those guys trash their bikes a lot as well - all in good fun. I've done a more than fair share of losing as well, and several times I've had my bikes mistaken for a Duc by Duc owners - lol - a well modified Blast is a fun bike to ride, any who tried mine thought so. doesnt matter what they build, I couldnt wait TWO years for a purpose built dirt bike, so now that I have committed those funds to a 250cc MX'r and spent the Buell piggy bank money; of course they are going to come out with something . I know its not personal, but that is the THIRD time I have been screwed by buying what I could get because they didnt build what I really wanted (and then proceeded to build it later) You know who cancels shiate and says nothing of the new .... Skunk Works, Did they hire a bunch of Northup G to work on the next project... SR-71 "Retired" B-2 "Retired" F-117 Limited flight ops.... Still miffed about them cubing a bike. I really hope that was somebodys photo shop rendition and not an actual bike. Go ahead an park any noncubed Blasts next to my grumpy garbage can. I will 'recycle' them

I'm sick of hearing "Be Last"...Funny..the last time I heard that face to face...I SCHOOLED a squid on a Gixxer for it... The first Blast I ever saw was at the dragstrip...a 16 year old rode it...his dad was there with a ProMod Harley and the kid was learning how to ride. The bike ran 7.30's in the 1/8th...no bars. that aint bad for an old school pushrod 515cc motor...there were plenty of stock 600 street bikes there that day that were no quicker. Yes, it is time for an updated bike...at least for those people that want a modern bike with modern attributes...If Buell announces a bike like I HOPE they will...I will be at the dealership...checkbook in hand to place a deposit. If it is an econobike or an ugly @ss 9ft in the air motard with no sporting bike attributes, I will look elsewhere or build my own. I have no interest in IL-4 engines on my STREET bike...I like the torque and driveability of a strong thumper or twin. But I really dont like the huge weight and mass of a twin... My 5 year plan includes a new bike for 2010. Who gets my money??? Or will there even be a bike on the market that is suitable? Does Works Performance get my money for a suspension upgrade on what I have now? Do Wes and Pammy get a wheelbarrow full of my money for motor work? I wait... I await the revelation. |

You all do realize that the marketing firm has you eating out of their hands now right? They want to get your attention, and they have it. We've taken the bait, now after the dealer meeting they'll set the hook, hoping to real you into the dealer and buy the Blast replacement. Seems to me the add did it's job. As far as being offended, lighten up. They didn't crush your Blast. If 8 years from now they "crush" an 1125r for an ad to start a buzz around a new model, won't bother me as long as they don't steal mine to crush. |

This ad might get Monix to re-evaluate his marketing theory. Buell next ad will have a mint 1125RR and a cubed R6, side by side! |

You take a lot of crap unless you ride something big and expensive. Then, when you blow them away in the twisties because you can USE all of your bikes capability and they cannot, they get real nasty. I'm used to taking it from other riders. I'm not accustomed to having the folks who designed it tell me that, essentially, it was a mistake. That is what the ad says. I defended this thing for four years and this ad simply reinforces the negative views of a good little bike (read the other sites, if you don't believe it), gives credence to those who think it's crap and gives me a stereotype I'm going to have ride down hard every time I get on it. "Ha-Ha! Check out the ottoman. When you going crush that POS? Even Erik Buell thought it's crap. Get a real bike.Ha-Ha!" It also kills sales of a good beginner bike that was a safe alternative to a Sportster 1200 or XB9X. Yeah, I'm sensitive. |
