3 Cheers for OBAMA INFLATION!!! The perfect combination - inflation with high unemployment! Hip Hip Hooray! Hip Hip Hooray! Hip Hip -- Oh crap, we're hosed... Cost of everything has gone up - low interest rates, record national debt, corrupt government programs and higher minimum wages = less bang for your buck! Yet the solution was sooo easy - reduce taxes to stimulate the economy... |

So why not go with 16207-79D? I was quoted $65 at the dealer. Is this from the dealer? |

Maybe it's like the one in another thread, "Hand poured from a proprietary urethane formulation...". By naked virgin nymphs no doubt, blessed by a witch doctor, and packed in the finest goose down prior to shipment... |

LaFayette is here !!! Just trying to figure out which QUESTION to answer next ??? Oldog: The PART NUMBER you need to be concerned about is the "PART NUMBER" on the HARLEY-DAVIDSON "ISOLATOR" which should be 16207-79D, it is on there some where "AND" if it is not the -79D it is not strong enough ... Fast1075: Working hard to get it back together "CORRECTLY", want it to stay together the "MAXIMUM MILES" !!! |

When I asked the dealer parts guy for the front ISO for an '00 X1, he went in the back and came back with 16207-79D in a bag marked Buell. When I told him about the center hole size issue he said he had no clue. But at least he brought the "correct" part. I think it was $65. |

The 79D seems to be the way to go from, info gleaned from about 10 zillion posts. The big question is, How many 79Ds have failed on tube frame Buells? |

Fullauto: As soon as my -79C goes bad and a -79D gets installed and still riding, "i" will let you know ... |

Well, with everything else happening, it seems to be the question to ask, as nobody else has. The decision to have the hole drilled out is a no brainer, if this is indeed the fix we are seeking. |

Fullauto: The HARLEY-DAVIDSON Parts Numbering System works this way ... ie: -79D means that the part in question was first used in 1979 and over the years went from -79, -79A, -79B, -79C, and is now at -79D ... "D" means this part is at its last up-date and the latest and greatest ... "AND" that is why when "i" put a new isolator in it will be the -79D even though "i" will have to IMPROVISE a little ... Now for the BMC "BUELLschitte" system, "WELL" you just can not look at the part number with out a part number break down to tell anything about it unless you are a Dealer Parts Person working with these part numbers to learn what they are telling you ... "AND" when you look at it after removing it from the bag, somewhere on it will be a H-D part number ... |

"i" still say "PROPER INSTALLATION" is the answer ... "BUT" there are those that say "HOW IN THE WORLD COULD ONE DO IT IMPROPERLY" ??? "i" can only go by what "i" do ... |
