I just ordered a shirt. I've been donating a little money each pay day (I get paid bi-weekly) but I hadn't bought a shirt. It's funny; I feel a little guilty for not just donating the 25 bucks. However, the cash isnt enough to make a real difference, and seeing another fan wearing it at the races might give more of a boost in morale than a couple of bucks ever would. Now, I just have to figure out a way to get to the races, so they can see me wearing it. It didn't matter what T-shirt I was wearing at Road America; it was so cold and wet that I was wearing all my riding gear all day long. If the factory has found some more horsepower for the 1125 motor, I hope they let Shawn and Mitsu in on it. I'd really like to see Shawn finish a little better. |

If the factory has found some more horsepower for the 1125 motor, I hope they let Shawn and Mitsu in on it. +10, especially since he's the only one competing at the superbike level!! |

Crusty, I've been doing the same thing. Forgot to order a shirt . . . but I will. Nice to see Shawn in the mix and I'm sure ever $25 is a huge help to him. |

Does anyone know if Shawn will be running the 1125RR this weekend? If he is not would it be safe to say his 1125R will be running the same parts that are on the 1125RR? That sure would put a lot of the S*** Talkers to rest if he was running his 1125R with the race parts that have recently become available through Buell!!! I will be there to see for myself. Hope to see you there!!! |

Update on the Higbee Racing Benefit ride- we've got a bunch of items (Buell memorabilia, autographed stuff) to auction off at the BBQ after the ride. Just so you realize, the ride is free, so come on out. We've got about 20 Buellers going along. http://www.meetup.com/SoCal-Buell-Riders/calendar/10789081/

Hey gang, check out Shawn's latest blog post if you want a little insight into what it takes to keep a Buell race team going. http://shawnhigbee.wordpress.com/2009/07/24/higbee -race-summary-from-the-ama-mid-ohio-roadrace/ |

Wow....$3700 minimum....that's ALOT of t-shirt sales. I wonder if the $6000 purse from finishing Top 20 in all 4 races includes Buell contingency money? |

AMA pays $7500 for 1st,$4000 for 2nd through 10th place, and $3000 for 11th through 20th place finish, figured by calculating the average for 2 races per class on doubleheader weekends. Seems like the AMA should pay out for each race, since they pay out points, why not money too???Buell contingencies are only for the top 3-5 places depending on the series... So no Buell money unless a rider places 5th or better |

The ride went really well. 22 Buells for the ride. That's kind of a big group not to split into smaller patrols, but we didn't lose anyone and everybody had a good time. We kept the speed down for the first half of the ride, because we had some novice riders with us. Then we cut advanced riders loose to go ahead of the slower pack, and they got to take a nice canyon side trip. The auction raised just short of $1000.00, so adding in the t-shirts that the SoCal Buellers bought, it's raised around 1,300.00 total. It won't get Shawn a new RR, but it'll put tires on his bike for Topeka. Pictures of the ride are at http://bit.ly/76jfN Don't you wish this thing could happen with all his fans nationwide? People were asking for you and Mitsu, BTW.

I can vouch for the quality event the SoCal Buell Riders put together. Crystal and I went down from Los Angeles to participate. Fantastic hospitality from San Diego Harley, well organized by Wolf, and superior camaraderie from all involved. It was great to be able to do our little part to help Shawn with his endeavor. The icing on the cake was that Shawn and Marianne joined us on the ride. Again, hats off to everyone that made this possible. |
