I ask this question periodically because someone e-mailed me a long time ago with vague information, and I have never been able to confirm the story. Anyway - Still curious if anyone has modified a stock 12 pipe to work on a 9. The idea being that you can get better performance than a stock 9 pipe running the Race ECM, while keeping it quiet. Thanks! --Sean |

Same inlet diameter differant outlet diameter. The 12 muffler on a 9 will not give as much back pressure, and the engine does not run as good as it can. Just my exoerience with this situation though. Jimmy |

Not to mention the valve that would need to be rigged open somehow. |

I went loud, I came back. My ears and brain can't take it... Hey Bishop, are you saying you ran a 12 muffler on a 9? Was it with the stock ECM or Race ECM? My bike currently has the stock pipe with the Race ECM and it runs fine, with a hair of bog off idle if you whack the throttle, otherwise no issues. I just want a pipe that flows more to take advantage of the Race ECM, but remains stealthy and quiet. I have enough power just want to see if I can make the Race ECM work a little better. The valve can be rigged open, or I think you can program it to open with ECMSpy. --Sean |
