For now, I call BS on that. I find it odd that I can find no other reference to this GSXRrr anywhere else, and find it hard to believe that HellForLeather has the only scoop on it. |

Shenanigans! What? Somebody make up a fake story just to put down Buell? No way. Never happens!!! |

My initial reaction was not shenanigans, but rather Suzuki must have had this model in development for quite a while- and if so, Buell appears to have made a really good call by introducing the 1125RR. Additionally, if this does turn out to be real, then the only logical conclusion to draw is that there will be a street version of the 1125RR introduced shortly- which would be way cool. |

Honda's statement after the Buell RR news was essentially "this is gonna be fun". |

It would be interesting to see the inline crowd release a turn key race bike. However, I would be willing to bet they still would not release the unobtainium parts to the privateers... |

yeah it going to be like. well guys we have a stock bike and it cost XXXx.xx to make. we have a 39,000.00 budget total. we need it to race and win. plus we have to make xxxx of them plus make them available for the race license guys to buy turn key.x amount goes to our teams. well as i see it if one can do it why not all. as long as they make it as buell did it. its game on. we will see all kinds of stuff done. some parts will be racers only and those parts will drop in cost to fit the overall dollar. like get free team paint colors and ect. there will be all sorts of loop holes i'm sure. or all race bikes come unpainted gelcoat. saves cost the its all engine/suspension work. its going to be real interesting. cause now some super trick parts will get into the market that have been on the banned list for a while. one big loop hole. mike |

What are the unobtainium parts these days?? The 2008 AMA season has long been over and with it the end of the true no expense spared factory superbike's and formula extreme 600's. AMA/DMG's new regime has pretty much leveled the playing field as far as equipment. What will be next...rule's that limit what skill set and number of people you can have as a support crew, so "privateers" can be on equal footing with professional race teams? If I want to watch privateers I will go to a club race. (Message edited by rsh on July 22, 2009) (Message edited by rsh on July 22, 2009) |

2 things the 'Big Four' have going for them. Lots of money and lots of parts. While they might say they are selling the public the same parts, in reality they have all the parts to go through first and pick the ones with best specs that suit their purpose. Same parts-kinda! |

Isn't that the goal of a privateer that wants a career in racing, to reach the factory level, and be able to contend for a championship with others that have attained that level of exclusivity, having the best part's, bike's, support crew and whatever else goes with it. In the past I have raced for year's, I had started as a sole privateer, and at the time my dream was to be a factory rider, all of my hero's were factory riders. I started on a small scale, as I proved myself to others and got noticed I started to receive some help, the better my results were, the more help I would receive and so on. I thought I was on my way to becoming a factory rider. I could regularly win "club" races. It was time to move on to bigger league racing. I started running AMA races. What an eye opener, these guys were fast. Initially I could barely qualify to get on the grid, I was determined and I worked hard, trained hard, practiced hard, the results were moving in the right direction but I was not having the success I had achieved at "club" level. I started thinking it must be my bike, It wasn't the latest and greatest anymore, I practically begged borrowed and stole to get the the best equipment I could afford. The results improved a bit more, the best being mid pack. My dream of becoming a factory rider was evaporating, I could go back to the "club" and pull off a win, it just was not satisfying, just as running mid pack or worse in the AMA was not really fun anymore. I was not going to be the next star. |
