The AMA is not doing a good job communicating with the general public. Matt is clearly frustrated, as are many others. Buell creating a race bike that ANYONE can buy is a great idea. It is my belief that the AMA wants to open up competitive racing to more people. Thats a good plan. By not clearly communicating that point, it looks like Buell is being given special treatment. This seems like an easy problem to fix. The RRW article clearly states that Erik is not the villain in this situation. If the quotes about punitive tear downs are accurate, the AMA is WAY out of line. If they are going to take these kind of strong arm tactics to silence critics, the series is not going to be long for this world. Factory supplied, blue printed, and tweaked bikes are a LONG way from what you and I can buy off of the showroom floor. The 1125 RR is a good answer to the big three creating "factory" stock race bikes. For the moment, I've stopped watching the AMA races. The ridiculous safety car, poor coverage (I'm sorry Ralph Sheene needs to go), and all of this drama are just not worth my time. Until this gets sorted, I'm going to stick with MotoGP and WSBK. Vote with your checkbook/don't go or watch if you are unhappy with the racing. US motorcycle racing was once the the best in the world. How did we get here? |

Hey Richie, I'm the dork that asked you to pose for this-- BTW, I very impressed with the all the good people, "facilities on wheels" and the over all presentation of your team. Everything was first class. Now if I could just get my hands on one of those team shirts with all the graphics on it..... |

If you stopped watching AMA races you missed some great racing. Nobody is a quitter on the race track from what I was watching. (Message edited by dbird29 on July 21, 2009) |

Not quitting, just deciding how I will spend my limited free time. If you enjoy it, by all means watch. There have been individual events that have been great to watch. On balance, I have preferred WSBK to all the other series. It does help that Spies is going so well. I'd LOVE to see Buell in WSBK. I want the AMA to succeed. I don't have the means to go to Europe to attend races. I went to the GP event at Indy last year and have attended a GP at Laguna. Throw in WSBK at Salt Lake and that is only three races across the whole country. Thats not enough. The AMA is testing today and tomorrow at NJMP. If it doesn't rain, I'm going to go check it out in person. I'm hopeful that it will be fun. (Message edited by PatrickMitchell on July 21, 2009) |

What Matt doesn't say when he is talking about the Buell 1125RR as being a "purpose built racebike", is that the big 4 already build purpose built racebikes with lights on them, and have been for a while. The Buell was designed and built for the street with street ergonomics and the characteristics of the engine and power curves designed for street riding...just look at the torque curve. He can be frustrated about that all he would like, but he is not facing the facts. The 1125RR is just leveling the playing field a bit, but still not completely (10th place is not exactly catching the world on fire). Knapp was experimenting the whole race with gear selection, short shifting and braking points to an extent. I was watching him through the Esses and he never did the same thing twice...which is OK, since it was his first opportunity on the bike. |

Those were Uhlrich's quotes in RRW - about the AMA threats made to M4 racing. |

The AMA (racing) organization IS losing credibility with the pettiness of those statements. Sure they may have been "only kidding" but WTF???? Didn't their mommies teach them NOTHIN? |

I thought that Al L.'s comments in RRW were right on the money about why the let the RR in. Where are they losing credibility with this logic? |

In my opinion, the AMA is losing credibility with the OVERT threats made against Uhlrich and the M4 Team Hammer - not about the 1125RR. If you are acting IN an OFFICIAL position, you just don't kid around about the threat of punitive inspections after public comments - especially in light of recent fines and suspensions. There are a LOT of teams that take road racing and penalties seriously - not just Uhlrich and M4. (Message edited by slaughter on July 21, 2009) |

JRP, DID screw up the race and deservedly got banned for 3 races. He sounded like a broken record. He DID hold his line. He DIDN'T allow the faster racers to pass. I am glad the AMA came down hard on him. Blue Flag: Indicates to a rider that they are about to be overtaken. Riders are advised to keep their line and allow the faster rider to pass. Riders disregarding this flag may be blackflagged at the discretion of AMA Pro Racing." |

Wow that is quite a tirade. Not the way to handle that, you call the guy into a trailer before you ream him out; don't allow the public to tape it! I did not see the race so I dont' know what happened. I have always been told "hold your line, let the guy passing you pass you." did he hold his line or did he move over or was he just riding badly? |

Why do you guys have to drag every thread into the mud? This thread is about Danny Eslick, THE RIDER, not the AMA, DMG, Al Ludington or Barack Obama. There are plenty of threads for whining and arguing, so keep it there. Leave your crap out of the threads like this. Remember, this is BUELL FAN FORUM!!! |

Yeah, lets keep this thread positive about Danny and not get sidetracked. Danny and the team's performance was very impressive. Somewhere they found a few more MPH and Danny rode the wheels off of it. His pass on Jaime Hacking (who has ridden in MotoGP and WSB this calendar year) was top notch. You guys should have been there. I can't wait for Ebear's pictures. |

Anticipation is not greater than realization in this case. I do not intend to rush ebear. Some one once asked Ansel Adams what size camera that he preferred to use, and he said, "The largest one that I can carry!" I can foresee someone asking ebear what size lens does he prefer to use, and him giving the same answer. That front ocular was freakin' huge...the better to let light in, m'dear. |

I dont understand the comment form Matt. he says"When buell/eslick wins it's the bike, when a 600 wins its the rider. People only c what they want to c, not the way it is. Good job danny" I think every Bueller have recognized Danny and are well aware he is the man for Buell. I thiink the way he took on Hacking this past week clearly showed how talented and fire danny has. Great Job Danny, RMR, Geico and anyone else in yoru team |

Well said Jimi. Ebear's work is worth any wait we have to endure. It's just so good that it's very hard to wait. |

Buell2001b... I think the point was that the Buell won because it was ridden great by a great rider. The implication being further that the 1125R in Daytona Sportbike trim is reasonably matched to the 600 inline fours in Daytona Sportbike trim. Which has been the same conclusion reached by people that have watched the Daytona Sportbike races, rather then just hanging around at superbike planet...
