Carlos, actually it's a pretty neat helmet. U4 called it the Speed Racer helmet.Damn nice bike. Jim also has a new bike. I witnessed from 80 mph the take off speed a inline 4 has over a v-twin. All I could do was smell the burnt gas. Jeez, that bike is fast, smells and sounds good. I'll be heading to the Fancy Gap area early next Saturday solo if you want to meet for breakfast. Might see if Freebournes has a room for a night. Hopefully Jerry and Denise can take a break and do some miles this time. Any locals want to ride up with me? Zach, Fish, Alex? |

Sounds good Twig. I was not picking on the helmet, but the lack of other gear. Yeah, if you want to keep up with U4 now you will need an 1125CR. When we were up in Christiansburg I had the chance to compare the 1125CR versus the Uly. One guy was on the Uly and I was on the CR. We got separated away from the group so the guy used it as an opportunity to open it up. I let the Uly go first then opened it up a few seconds later. No comparison, the CR stopped the advance of the Uly and closed the gap in a matter of seconds. I do not need that kind of temptation. |

In case you guys don't make it by Ray Price anytime soon, there are SEVEN first place plaques with Jordan Richardson's name on them on display at the front desk. |

Wow! I saw him yesterday and asked if he had been racing. He said something to the effect that it was going pretty well. |

Seven plaques and the dude is still humble. Pretty cool. I'd be curious to see a side by side run of and 1125 against the monster ZX14. 1125 has is over on HP to Weight ratio. Assuming 50 pounds for gas/coolant/oil on the 1125 (only dry weight is in the specs) it is a 0.343 to 0.334. 1125 to ZX14. Just curious. Don't change the alignment of the stars. |

Wow there were only 5 the last time I was in there. If anyone stops in there and talks to Jordan, tell him to call me about the Moto-Comm system we talked about. Give him my number or have him shoot me an email. M2-Believe me when I say the CR would be sitting here had it not been for the price tag! All the power and glory of the I4's cannot be matched with the soul of the Buell's. With that being said, I love the new Bike!!! |

And the interesting point would be to use the CR or the R in that race. Seems that the reduction in gearing would have it off the line, then vice versa. If the 14 is anything in powerband like the ZR, the engine really doesn't start singing till bout 4500 rpms ALL the way to 11,500, but with a good launch it s would be possible. The V-twin is unmatched in low end torque so the race would really get interesting about the 1000 ft/1/8th mile mark IMHO |

The test I have seen the R is a low 10 sec bike. The ZX-14 though is a high 9 sec bike. That does not seem like a lot, but the speed at the end of the 1/4 would be a difference of like 10-15mph, plus the Kawi would be pulling away fast from there. Now riding both back to back, I can say without a doubt the CR pulls much harder at lower speeds. I looked hard at the Z1000 when it first came out. It is a lot of bike and man you could get a new one right when new. Hard to pass up, but I had to have more two up capability. This is the same reason I passed on the Lightning. Way to go Jordan. Webe and I were up there a couple weekends ago but he must have been racing earning his seventh. |

I wouldn't be surprised if we don't soon see an 1125R in the high 9's. http://www.badweatherbikers.com/buell/messages/290 431/477208.html?1247590025 |

Heather works Sat afternoon, and I may have some buds from College down this way this weekend, but I bet we can make it up for breakfast. We'll be on the Firebolt so no mileage records for the day. Still have not torn into the Cyclone... I am not a bad influence, you guys are just too easy! |

My drummer was rusting up pretty bad on the bottom so I put the stock muffler, active valve, and stock computer on so I can repair the drummer. Driving around with the stock set up is sad! It sounds very pathetic! I can't hear the exhaust at all. It will give me motivation to hurry and sand down and repaint the drummer. I've never had the stock muffler on before and have never ridden a buell with a stock muffler. I had no idea. |

See, I guess everything is relative. I can hear my stock exhaust just fine. Though I do have the Drummer SS on my wish list. |

Its probably because the drummer was on it when I bought it, and its always been loud. |

Speaking of 12 mufflers, does anyone have a 12 muffler lying around collecting dust that I could convince them to get rid of? Why is it things are plentiful right up until the time that someone needs them? Back to your normal programming, 1313 |

Heading out in the morning. I will be dealing with mountain grass Friday, Ride Saturday, Chores Sunday and Ride Monday. Sound like an even mix. It's only a bad Influence during the winter and rainy days. During sunny summer weekend days it's a good influence. Ever heard of a mental health day? |

Curious. What is the longest distance any of you have ridden on a Buell in a single day? My longest day on any bike was 550 miles from Albuquerque to Oklahoma City. Most miles in one day on my Buell is about 280 so far. |

My longest is around 550 on my Firebolt. I rode it to Daytona and back with Carlos and Brankin. |

I believe my longest day was Kenosha, WI to Raleigh. It was 940 miles. Another long one was Seattle, WA to Mountain View, CA. It was supposedly 880 miles, but I got lost and I'm not sure what the actual mileage ended up being. It may have in fact been my longest day. |

Nance...you could have stayed with us, but as Twig and I are busy getting ready to go in different directions, I suppose it's just as well. Keep us in mind in the future though. Twig heads northwest in the morning. I'll be heading west, then south...Atlanta via Cullowhee. Looking forward to the alternative to the straight 85 shot. And I'll be in my beloved station wagon...Never thought I'd I enjoy having one so much...wait...this is supposed to be a motorcycle posting area. Oh well. It was good having you here Brankin. Twig and I watched an episode of "Pimp My Ride" last night. Ordinarily I don't watch that show. But the ride they pimped was a hearse. Words fail me |

My longest 'day' (it was Sunday afternoon until Monday mid-day) was 900 miles on the S2 from Deal's Gap to East Troy, WI. I'd like to do the 1,000 mile Iron Butt on the XT-BOLT, but I have yet to find a suitable destination and the necessary time to do it... Motorcycles were meant to be ridden, no? 1313 |

Did a 525mi day last year on the '08TT, and seem to remember a 540-560ish mi day on the X-1. Have gone 250ish miles on 0.10 gal of gas, though. Of course, that was cheating, as that was how much fuel it took to get to the ferry terminal, and the ferry took me the rest of the 246mi. |

C3 at "MountainGrass" it was good to see and be seen today. I logged 310 miles and enjoyed the splendor of Burkes Garden, sans glaciers. Only other person I saw on the dirt was a fellow on a HD street glide. That would normally garner mucho respect, but I've seen it done 2-up on a Roadking across sheets of ice! Nice to meet you Alex, Heather and Amanda. The rest of you lot already know...I'm NUTS |

Nuts- great to meet you too! We swung by the Ridgedome, checked out Mt. Airy for a bit, had ice cream down in Rural Hall and stopped by the Kawa dealer in Winston to check out a C14. Salesman said 'no test rides, period'. Granted, we were not in riding gear and I wasn't trying to do it then and there, but he said they don't typically do test rides at all. Scratch them off the list... Got a few action shots of you all on the Parkway, will post them tomorrow. Prior |
