And I have questions. The gas cap. Non-lockable? is there a locking one? What about water and dirt intrusion? This seems like a major flaw. I saw the o-ring but, is it enough? There are 2 tubes on the inside of the passenger footpeg. I thought only the oil drain was there. How watertight is the storage compartment? is there a bag ala ulysses to hold things? |

Does anyone have a Blast as their only bike, or the main one? |

Lots or probably most here use their Blast as their only or main bike. Few use it as a 'toy'. Lockable gas cap is available (M2 cap is reported to fit) and its watertight (granted, if you leave it outside in the elements the rubber will eventually disintergrate and you'll get water in the tank-which would happen with most bikes). The 'storage compartment' is not watertight, but fairly well protected. You'd be silly to leave your old family photos in there and not expect them to get wet, but its usually good for anything else that will fit. There are factory Blast tank bag and saddle bags available. Neither are waterproof, but a lot of nylon luggage isnt anyway. There is other luggage available (like Givi), but dont expect to see a listing for it. Like most Buell stuff, you rarely see a "fits Buell" listing. One tube is oil drain. The other tube is PCV line drain (drains very little). Yes, If you look at my profile I have 4 (at least). Which one do you think gets the most mileage?! |

thanks for the feedback, I was starting to get cold feet about the bike. these bikes are a big change from my city-x and bmw. They seem....flimsy. My friend says they are too small, slow and beneath my riding skills. I think it would be fun in a 'look how far i made it w/this' way. |

The blast doesn't have the straight line acceleration of the xb bikes, but they lean just as well. |

My Blast is my only bike. My riding skills are still pretty new but my husband has been riding for many years and he has just as much fun on my Blast as I do up in the twisties! Some of my friends give me crap on how I should buy a bigger bike but I really see no reason to. I've ridden it for hours upon hours stopping only for gas and have had no problem with it. As for saying the Blast is slow...I keep up just fine with the "bigger" bikes. |

I put alot of miles on the Blast. When I was doing alot of one-up riding I would take it, it did everything I needed and I just liked it alot. I just have been doing alot of two-up riding recently on the Uly and though I have done alot of two up riding on the Blast, I am not using it for that right now. As far as being "Below your riding skills" so is a moped, but they are still as fun as hell. Sure you can get a different bike but you will be paying alot more attention to the bike than to the trip. |

My only bike is a Blast. I've not got any "skills" as such but I have only fallen off a bike twice in 32 years. I prefer the Blast to just about any "modern" sports bike I have owned. Enjoy the ride and enjoy the experience of testing the Blast's capabilities. It may well surprise you! Chris C |

Mesa...my Blast is my only bike...and I don't understand why so many poeple don't give them the love...I have no problems at all on the club rides keeping up with the others...they may zip ahead on long straight a ways...but I CATCH 'EM. Last Saturday on a ride...I rode #3 all morning...behind an 1125r and new guy on an Aprilia...when we stopped for lunch..the guy on the Aprilia said "I didn't think those things could run over 55mph...but every time I looked in the mirrors, you were RIGHT THERE." HEEE HEEE |

Unused, $3700? That sounds pretty good to me man. I love my BLAST more and more each day. Have you taken one for a test ride yet? |

"too small, slow and beneath my riding skills".
Any one of these guys and a few others I know will show you what riding skills you dont have and they'll do it on a Blast. LOL! Common misconception (and part of the American ego, bigger is better) is that you need a fast bike to go fast. If you haven't ridden one yet, you should. It is a Blast! |

If you think you need mega power to go fast....Google "Peter Lenz" and watch the videos on the website...and he's only 12 years old. If you check it out, send him a get well...he crashes his old 125 due to brake failure...one of these days, the kid will be a world beater. Oh to be young and indestructable again |

no one in phoenix will do test rides...I know going fast is the rider, not so much the ride. i've seen an 05 w/700 miles for $2600. hasn't run in a year, turns over w/ good compression( w/ a jump, dead battery). |

A Blast lives up to its name! They are a terrifically fun to ride, easy to handle, and can be modified to an extent to grow with your riding style, and have fun doing so. Batteries are cheap. EZ |

due you wont regret it. Slap on a set of Pirellis, give it 1000mi ride, change all the fluids over to synthetic 20W50 and ride. |
