Here’s the scoop on my X1. I purchased it in July 2005 from another BadWeb forum member with 16k miles. He babied it! It was mint when I bought it and hasn’t changed. I was thinking of making a chopper out of it but when I saw it for the first time, I couldn't break it down. It's that nice. It has the S3T bars on it (have the original bars) for a more upright riding position, Corbin seat with stock and Pegasus seats included as well, bar end mirrors (have stock ones as well) and upgraded to 2001 shift linkage (stock saved as well). The bottom cowl is currently off the bike (original owner took it off and I never put it on, I think it looks better off) but have it. Also, I have a Buell tank bag (a little faded but no cuts/rips and zippers work) and factory shop and maintenance manuals as well. The only time it left me stranded on its will was in 2006 when the stator went. I have ran out of gas on it twice due the low fuel light not working. First time was the first day I rode it and second was after I serviced the bike (forgot the low fuel level). I have the replacement unit but never installed it, just followed the odometer/trip. Maintenance: All service done at Brian’s HD/Buell in Langhorn, PA. In 2008, I had the base gasket on up replaced on both cylinders (original gaskets were paper, new are metal…common problem on the pre ‘03 models), forks done, front rotor and pads, rear pads and brake fluid. Tires are about 50% but running Metzler Z6’s in the front and ME880’s in the rear (should have 5-7k left). A new battery (battery always on tender if not riding back-to-back days) was installed in 2008. Also in 2008, voltage regulator was replaced (peace of mind, didn’t fail) during a service. Also, new belt being put on now. Below is the post when I bought it. http://www.badweatherbikers.com/buell/messages/21/ 127760.html?1122590356#POST477001 I have replaced the Supertrapp muffler with a D&D but other than that, it has stayed the same. All recalls were completed. The bike is a great sport-tourer. We have rode 500 mile days and it has been quite comfortable with this set-up (S3T bars and Corbin seat). It’s been to Toronto, Portland (Maine), Raleigh, Cleveland and everywhere in between. If I didn’t find the deal I found on the Ulysses, I wouldn’t sell the X1. KBB retail value is $4160 and trade in value is $2855. Middle is $3500. I’m looking for around $3300 but I’ll knock off a few bucks for Badwebbers. Will tow it as well to a reasonable location from me (central NJ). E-mail me at mastros2@msn.com for info/questions/comments. Here are some pictures. (Message edited by mastros2 on May 31, 2009) |

I forgot to mention that it has the race ecm and stock ecm. Yep, that's a Penske shock as well! Also, I used a quarter for the tread test. If I can think of anything else, I'll add! Taking offers...More eye candy below!!!

Whats involved with switching it to blue? Is it like the XB's when you just swap plastics? |

Thanks Jake! Froggy, Not the same as the XB's. You would have to switch with the X1 plastics which were pretty limited to red! I'm sure that painting the plastics wouldn't cost much if you really wanted blue. |

limited to red? um....mine is black. and a buddy has a blue one. and... yes froggy, just swap plastics. the X1 has a plastic tank cover, much like the XB's air box cover. also, the X1s plastics are painted, not colored plastic as the XBs are. so you could just as easily paint them too. |

Very much like that, I have been waiting to hear back from a guy that has a 99 blue race stripe I went and saw it a few months ago, then right after that I needed the money for other things. Now I got some cash, just need permission to pull the trigger. |

switching is just like the xbs. but on the x1 to take the chin fairing off you have to take off the foot clutch leaver. |

Oh, ok! Never saw a blue or black X1...only red. Thanks everyone! Blue does look good, especially the racing stripe. |

Nice looking bike. What's the current mileage? Do you still have the Supertrapp? |

Thanks Staves! Just rolled over 38K miles. Sorry, I threw out the Supertrapp. The stuffing started to blow out again so I replaced it with the D&D. I'm glad I did. The D&D sounds sweet and opened up the midrange a little. Also is included is a Cruz Toolz kit and K&N filter. Shoot me an e-mail if you want more pics, videos, etc. Mastros2@msn.com (Message edited by mastros2 on June 15, 2009) |
