99 x1 misses at 3000 rpm , bought 2years ago 26000 mi. has race kit. HAD MISS from beging.I install used EMC , a fix for short time. I have ben told this is a close loop system.Just run at 3000 rpm and it will reset.to no avail, a mechanic told me he could reprogram the emc. any info to help. or should go carburator.

You need to be a little bit more specific about the symptoms. Could be a lot of things, e.g., intake leaks, fuel map, clogged injectors, bad fuel filter, etc., etc.
