Relais du PONT DES BESNIERS 45530 SURY AUX BOIS. They do the most excellent pan fried calfs liver. (had some last night, mmmmmmmmmm) I'm running nights at the moment & the only compensation factor is that I can eat there most evenings. It's a typical French truck drivers restaurant, (one of the better ones) great food, & always a good atmosphere, the "Patron" is a biker & has a collection of classics too. A 4 course dinner with wine & coffee will run you about 17-18 bucks. |

http://www.diamondknot.com/ in Mukilteo, Washington. They bring out a hot stone for you to cook your food on. I know, sounds odd, but it is so good! Oh, and they just happen to be a brewery as well! |

"French truck driver's restaurant.." Number of years ago I was in France on business. While visiting a wire mill near Nancy, was taken to lunch at a truck driver's cafe run by 3 local farmer's wives. Had possibly the best meal I've had in France; certainly rivaled anything I have had in Paris. A real eye-opener for someone who as a trucker in an earlier life-time was used to N. American truck stop fare where the usual 'special du jour' is food poisoning. |

I like anything at The Dragon's Den at the D.G.M.R. I like anything at the T.W.O. Campground. I like Fuddruckers. There's a Bubba Gump Shrimp restaurant in Gatlinburg, TN. That was the best damn shrimp I've ever had. It's impossible to eat there without doing at least one impression of Forest Gump. |

Ya know, as long as we're mentioning chain restaurants, I'll have to toss in a vote for Cracker Barrel! Cracker Barrel for dinner, and Waffle House for breakfast. Two "must stops" on any road trip! |

My frequent chow spot http://www.chezshea.com/ They honestly have the best Foie Gras served on the west coast. Other choices: Any Tom Douglas restaurant http://www.tomdouglas.com/ (his rabbit presentation is mind bending) http://www.lepichetseattle.com/ (have the baked eggs during the day) |

Jaime, I figured you would, when I lived on LI I would ride from Babylon to RVC 2x a week to go there. It's harder to get there from Fla. Been to Peter's a few times, hung out a bunch at Freeport's Nautical Mile. |

The recently closed Thrush Tavern in Montpelier, VT. I worked there all through high school and college. They had the best burgers in the state. We used to have to walk down to Capital Market every morning for fresh, ground beef for the burgers and we received fresh buns from Colatina Bakery every day too. The burgers were to die for! |

I miss the old South Shore Inn on Sunrise Highway. Now THAT was a cool seafood restaurant. All you can eat seafood bar, salad bar and dessert bar. You almost didn't need the whole lobster entree! Nowadays I go to Southside Seafood in Lindenhurst for the twin lobster special. If I'm lucky, they'll have the twin Dungeness Crab special but that seems to be a rarity. One thing about living on an island: the seafood is always FRESH! |

The seafood in Florida is nothing to sneeze at either (even though our northern lobsters are better than those clawless critters you call lobsters down there). |

One thing you can get down there more easily than I can get up here is Conch. We only get their "little brothers" (scungilli) here. |
