Sorry I got off the beaten path. Were heading to Fayetville daragway tonight for all night drag races, gonna see if the Z will pull a 10 or not. Best I could ever get out of the Buell on the 1/4 mile was 12.06 at 127. Saturday looks pretty zipped up also, at least late in the evening. Sunday though I have no plans on. Pabst-yea Tonya got the 1st ride Wednesday. Took her out for about an hour. She says she like it, but I wasn't impressed with her facial convincings. The rear seat is flatter and larger on this bike though, but it just sits the passenger up higher. This I like cuz her helmet is no longer in my "dirty" air causing my helmet to buffet from side to side! |

Sounds like fun, U4. We're heading to Raleigh in the morning to pick up some tires on the bikes and then head back home. I do not know what we are doing after that. |

We are heading out of Kinston about 8am and will stop along the way for Breakfast. We will be in Raleigh between 9:30-10am. I'll talk to Webe when I see him later and see what's on the schedule. I'll give you a call. |

Well it was so daggum crowded last night,($10 ONE TIME FEE!!) that after waiting in line for an hour that one run was all I would make. It was good and it was bad. I'll give the bad 1st: being 1st time on the bike I had a 1.05 reaction time 300 ft mark I put my foot on the brake thinking it was the peg The front tire really didn't like the sticky stuff on the track so it stayed off of it pretty much the run The good: 11.33 @ 122MPH Take the above into account, I bet she'll run mid 10's so I was pretty happy all in all! |

U4, you are a braver man than I. On my short Friday ride I was finally comfortable enough on some turns to only go down to 2nd gear. My acceleration tests are limited to on ramps. My estimate is that 0 to 80 time is about 4 seconds with my heavy load on my 12Ss. |

I had a Challenger RT trying hard to line up against me yesterday. You can tell when someone is trying. He was dodging around traffic behind me trying to get other traffic out of the way. I normally pull away from traffic at lights so I can ride in a pocket of no traffic when in town. It must have gotten the Challenger driver's attention a few rows back in traffic. Once he cleared traffic he just hung around very obviously. I got caught at the last light out of town and after he got on it with a rolling start I gave him a five second sample. I walked away a good five to seven car lengths then let him pass. He took a good look at the bike with all the bags on as he passed. So far this weekend I rode about 120 miles on the Blast and another 220 miles on the Uly. Webe and I rode to Raleigh and got caught in holiday traffic on I-40. Luckily it was only a few miles of it before we turned off on US-70. I hate to be boxed in and we stayed to right and out of that Malay in the left lane. |

Some of you knew I was headed to Winston-Salem (by way of Twig's house), or at least out of town, this weekend. But not too many knew what fer. No, it wasn't to see Twig's awesome new Hi-Def TV - although that made for some spectacular TV shows and movies. Since Homecoming this year was not over the 4th of July I had a chance to check out something that I've wanted to for a while now. The real reason was to check out what the car (and bike) show was like at The Heavy Rebel Weekender. The show turned out a little smaller than I expected, but in the end did not disappoint. Here are a few of my favorites:
It's got attitude, you can't deny that.
What's that rather large exhaust pipe coming out of the fender attached to?
Why a Cummins Turbo Diesel, of course...
Mice mirror!
How low can you go?
Although not officially part of the show, as they didn't meet the age requirement (pre-68 only), two professional cars weren't very far from the action.
This woulda been perfect for the hearse above! Sorry for not letting everyone know that might have been interested, but I wanted to check out the event before making a big to-do about it. 1313 |

I had to email a few friends back up in Massachusetts. They have been getting rained on almost every day since the beginning of June. I just had to rub it in that in less than 3 months I have been able to ride enough to roll up 3000 miles in less than 3 months. I told them I'd let them know when there were job openings down here if they wanted to ride more.

A friend of my daughter was down last week. She said it has been non stop rain. I did check the 10 day for Lowell/Boston area and for the next 10 days there is more sun than rain. Have a safe trip. We're heading up that way for a camping trip soon. No bike. Just family. |

What's up Brothers and Sisters??? I'm drink... Lol. Heard about you rocking the Blast U-wife. Awesome! Thanks for the visit U4 and Twig. Always delightful to see ya'll and have those sweet bikes in my drive. I'm riding a lot and leaving for a little backroads trip to the Gulf of Mexico this weekend on an 09 R1200GSA I picked up. I'll stay with the family at the beach a few days, then ride North to CMP, grab a rental race bike and race a WERA meet the weekend of the 18th. The next weekend I'm headed to Roebling Road raceway for another weekend of racing. First weekend in Aug. I'm supposed to take the Cornerspin race school in Charlotte. Then Aug. 7-9 three days of racing at WERA's Cyclejam at VIR North course. Yep, I'll be broke and tired if all this fun stuff happens, but that's what life's all about. Spent a couple of days recently with a friend exploring Wilkes, Surry, Allegany, and surrounding counties on the GSA'a hitting tons of paved twisties, dirt roads, trails, and just generally exploring and getting lost. Can't believe it's already mid-July. Tailwinds and sunshine. Mike. |

Mike - I like the riding gear. Watcha call it? Is it something you picked up in the back woods of Georgia. As you hear Dueling Banjos in the back grounds. I need to get out your way or you need to catch up with us when we are cutting mountain grass. Going up next weekend. Hint, Hint, Nudge, Nudge. |
