Aren’t some people just SO nice. I had to stop by the store and pick up a couple of things and when I got back out to the bike what did I find. Some jerk had slammed a shopping cart into it. Scraped the paint off the saddle bag and marked that as well. I had parked way the heck out too, next to a light pole. It’s not much damage I know BUT the fact that they just didn’t care about someone else’s things that gets me going. OR they did it because they could, ya never know what some twits will do. Of course they’d be the first to raise cane if THEIR car got hit. Guess it’s for the best I DIDN’T see it happen or I’d likely be in jail right now. Birdy |

Birdy, Sorry to hear about the mishap. I think it would be best if you were there to make things right. I didn't know you moved, I guess that explains why I haven't seen you in a hen's age. Good luck with the repair. Boiler |

Cold... just cold. Had a similar mishap with my beloved TALON in a parking lot. Makes my blood boil. |

Yea Vince, the place I worked for there shut down but I was offered a job at the Ohio plant. I miss Angola BUT I do want to eat sometimes so I had to take it. Not much work in Indiana right now. Never did get those patches sewn on...and a good thing as the jacket I was looking to sew them on fell apart! I still like your bike! and I finely DID get all the white plastics for mine. Yea looks like I'll be doing a bit of paint work the the saddlebag this weekend The black plastic part of the bag I'll use a heatgun on the blend it back in a bit (old stereo installers trick). |

i worked for a grocery for quite a few years. i learned to always park at the highest elevated point in the lot. most of the time carts wont roll up hill. unfortunately, on windy days grocery carts can act like bullets! good luck on the paint. |

The one...and I mean ONE time I park my beloved SS in the main portion of the parking lot. I get hit with a basket...WHILE I'm in the truck... I was so pissed, but I didn't even get mad at the dude, he put the buggy away and it came out and started rolling towards me, next thing you know THUNK. It made a nice little dent in the left fender. I was mad about the incident, but there was no reason for me to freak out on him, I saw it happen, he came running up and I told him it was ok, I would take care of it. I kind of hope that somewhere there is a Karma Jar and each time I do kind things the Karma Bear adds a delicious Karma Skittle to the jar that one day will come in handy. Sadly though, it seems sometimes the Karma Bear just would rather sh!t on my face than put a Skittle in the jar. Life's hard, the Army's hard, I'm gonna go hang myself in the shower. |

I wish I had a dollar for every time I've watched some one parked right NEXT to a cart return stall simply push the thing in between their car and the one in next to it and motor on outta there. It's either sheer laziness or that new fangled trend that's catching on where everyone thinks their more important than everyone else(more selfish if you ask me). They need not be bothered with consideration for others. |

a lot of stores here require you drop a $1 coin into a lock on the cart. you get the $ back when you return the cart. problem solved. |

Bummer.. One of the things I like about our local grocery store (Publix), is that the grocery bagger folks will kindly walk your cart to your car, help load the bags in the car, then bring the cart back in. It is part of their job to do this... and they don't accept tips for this service. You rarely, if ever, see a shopping cart in the parking lot. Now, wal-mart on the other hand.. you basically have to weave through the randomly placed carts in the lot, and dodge the moving ones. When I go to wal-mart, I usually park right next to one of the cart return cages. For one, it makes it easier to return the cart, and also pretty much ensures that there won't be any carts near my vehicle! |

I tried the park by the return cage strategy and that is how I got hit. Guy put it in the cage I was parked on the left side of it so I could drive straight out and it rolled out and dented my front left fender. Proceed with caution. Now I will say this is in Missouri and the parking lot is sloped. Damn Karma Bear. |

We have $1 coins here as well. I don't accept them or use them because they don't have "In God We Trust" on them, but we have them. |

I don't accept them or use them because they don't have "In God We Trust" on them, but we have them. Just because it is on the edges does not mean it's not there. I don't use them because I always hand them off as quarters and everybody takes advantage of my stupidity! |

Even the new presidential ones say it.
You two need your vision checked if you mistake those for a quarter, and think they don't say the G word. (Message edited by froggy on July 09, 2009) |

Court, They are not Buell bags but Hepco & Becker Junior Flash, the same size as I believe your are but with a paintable panel on the side. The damage isn't large it was more the fact I'd just gotten them painted and on less that 4 months ago. AND to top it off I broke my camera but here's and photo of them on the bike I took a bit ago. Ahhhh . . .no problem. I thought they were off an S2 or S3 and I was going to make sure we got them painted properly. That is a sweet looking set-up on the TT! Great looking bike! |

Bastrd - Some of the early presidential Dollar coins were pressed with partially missing text or missing the entire moto on the edge of the coin. Most were shipped to Florida. Hang on to your coin, I wouldn't mind having one of the mistakes. Birdy - While I'm not a big fan of white, even though i have one, I really like the looks of yours. The mismatching panel didn't help. You can be proud of your final result! I am in the process of changing over to the older PM wheels (with slots). The rear is on and the front should be on by tonight....or this weekend. I'm glad to hear that you had the opportunity to retain employment. |
