Wondering if any of you got the bar end weight for XB12X/XB12XT handlebar with handguards on? If you do which product would you recommend? |

HVMP! You need to get the Extra Heavy if you still want to use the hand guards, they are the ones I use. http://www.hvmp.com/universal.htm |

I have a question. What is the purpose of the bar-end weights? |

They help dampen vibration, provide much needed extra crash protection and also give a much more secure mounting for the Hand Guards (which are only retained by a flimsey plastic insert!). Thanks! That will do the trick since I can now know the difference between with and without bar end. Believe me it does make a huge difference. (I had the bar end weights on my xb9s.) Now I need them for my Uly!!! Thanks for the advice. |

I certainly have liked bar end weights on other bikes that I have had, but in defense of the Uly's "flimsey plastic inserts"... they DO absorb shock in a fall... and then they are super cheap and easy to replace... easier than straightening out bent handlebars. |
