PLEASE can anyone or everyone out there willing and able please go to your xb and put your finger on your air scoop on the air box? I'm talking about the front corners of the air scoop on the air box cover. A month or so ago I noticed my air scoop wAs loose, it was missing a clip on the under side of the air box (the scoop, clip, and air box are all one part.) My air box cover was replaced by warranty. Now on my new air box cover the same thing has happened. I checked out a buddy's xb and noticed his air box has play at the same corner. this indicates that he has a clip missing too. My theory is that many people are missing clips on their air scoops but don't know it. like I said if anyone can push down on the scoop just to the left or right of the gas cap, see if it moves. My first one just moved up and down, and this one has even moved forward due to the place that the clip is missing. the air scoop is held on the box by these clips going around the outer edge of the scoop. |

RoadRUNNER Touring Weekend July 9-11, 2009 I've signed up to do this event. It's looks to be a good time and it's not that far away. See attachment or link below. I've also booked a room at the Wisp Resort for this event. It's a Double Suite that has 3 beds. The event room rate is $129 per night regardless of the number of beds. Anybody what to share the room? http://www.roadrunner.travel/rrevents.php http://www.wispresort.com/ Room layout: http://www.wispresort.com/wisp/info/accommodations .aspx |

Bur of course! Today was supposed to be the rainy day and tomorrow the sunny day. The only positive I can see is it may turn the Red Eyes Dock Bar event into a wet t-shirt contest. Bring your rain gear! |

Keeping my fingers crossed for a good start, at least. Ironically, I was actually just shopping for waterproof boots. Anyone got a good recommendation? On the affordable side ($100-150), I was looking at the Alpinestars Ridge and the Joe Rocket Meteor. On the pricey side ($200-300), I was looking at the Sidi Canyon and Sport Rain boots. Right now I use a tall, strange looking pair of Harley boots that have no laces, just a zipper up the side and a bunch of unnecessary buckles. I haven't gotten a chance to test them in real rain yet. |

Sorry I missed you guys and the ride. I went to the Barbara Fritchie Classic (Flat tracking is GREAT!!!) in Frederick on Saturday and Summit Point on Sunday. Caught up with our good Buell Racing friends at Winchester HD-Buell.. Go Jeff! and our friends at Ray Price Hd-Buell of Raleigh. Too bad that Speed Channel is TOTALLY oblivious to all the motorcycle racing going on ALL THE TIME in their own American back yard. What a bunch of ding dongs! |

A good time was had by all 10 riders (that's right, 10)! Ft. Washington came through with a very important bolt and spacer for Paul's ride - never fun to look down and see one missing. Thanks to Paul and Jose for leading and sweeping. Those were some great roads that I've never been on - lots of options out there. There was only a tiny bit of rain here and there, but not enough to actually get through a jacket or pants - didn't have to break out the rain gear. I heard there was a close call with a deer. I think the odds were in my favor. We got a late lunch at Thursday's in North Beach, MD and watched a variety of bikes go by, including a pair of killer Aprilias, complete with Italian riders (I'm assuming they were Italian...they looked like they just pulled off the Milano Autostrada). Kyle (on a new, white XB12R that clicked over the 500-mile break-in period today), Okc99 (David), and I headed back to DC, while the others headed for the Bay Bridge and Kent Island and infamy. In addition to the three of us, there was Paul (Pellis), Lars (2kx1), Jose, Thunderstruck, and I'm sorry to say I can't remember the three others' names! Some shots):
(gotta' love all the black Buells)

Hehehe! I'll try to post some stuff up tonight to Flickr. Can't stand reducing photos to fit the Bad Web requirements. Yesterday was a lot of fun! My total mileage was in the neighborhood of 250. Thanks to Lars for hatching the plan, to Paul for leading us on a beautiful route and doing on-the-fly reroutes in his head, and to Jose for sweeping and covering us at all the intersections. And to the weather for holding out! The only thing that was missing was a zoom on my point and shoot camera. Next time we'll have to get Peter to show up. |

I’d like to thank everybody who came out on Sunday, especially if the iffy weather. I was surprised by the turnout. We’ll do it again and see if we can’t get the whole thing in. I’ll make sure that I have all my nuts tighten. There’s still close to 70 miles of good roads from the 7-11 that takes you to the 5 Guys in Edgewater. Good pics, Black is the only proper color for a motorcycle. |

Okay, Tony. Those photos made a believer...I'll make the WHOLE ride next time! I would second the request for a tutorial on how to change a belt, especially if it needed to be done on the side of the road. Someone posted a step-by-step how-to-change-your-oil guide with photos on the Uly board. Very nice. |

First I have to say you're all wrong, the only color that looked good on the ride was white and blue. Thanks to Paul and Jose for leading/sweeping even though they didn't keep that deer away from me, but at least I barely missed it. Now that the bike is broken in its getting better every day. |

Saw a translucent blue Lightning parked in the Wheaton, MD Metro station parking garage last night (Thursday) around 7:30pm. I was cutting through the garage on my Uly (love the sound reverberating around the levels) on my way to the Royal Mile Pub around the corner. Who's got the other Buell in Wheaton!?!? |

Excellent pics Tony!! Great job by Paul leading and everyone else rode their pace and had fun. It was also great job by Kyle missing that deer. I saw it and was instantly expecting a second one to appear but it never did. It looked very close from my saddle. The other fun part was passing the other two Buells heading in the other direction. I bet they were shocked to see some may Buells riding together! We had a pretty uneventful ride other than the deer and that one car that did not slow down as the group of bikes left an intersection. I had a split second to wave my hand and get the last few riders to stop before the car went by. I got some better closeups of the "talent" I'll see if I can post it somewhere.
