So, I got some new riding boots for Fathers Day (Alpinestars SM-X5 Vented) and I am constantly lifting my foot off the peg to downshift. Is there a way to adjust the gear shift lever down a couple of inches? Thanks in advance. Pete |

yeah you will need to un bolt the linkage from the shifter, then unbolt the screws on the actual linkage then you will be able to freely turn it to make it longer then re tighten the bolts on the linkage and put the bolt back in that connect it back to the shifter, hope this helps |

You don't have to take it off. There's locking nuts top and bottom, loosen them and turn the long piece to shorten or lengthen (like a turnbuckle). Get the length you want, tighten up the locking nuts and away you go. |

Left hand threads and right hand threads make this operation a snap.. Mike |

Speaking of snap, don't over tighten the screw that goes into that pivot piece that comes out of the primary. DAMHIK. |

Thanks guys! That was incredibly easy to do. Just a few turns of the shaft and the gear lever lowered to a perfect spot! |
