With all the Buell enthusiasts who love to mod their bikes ECM, why haven't we seen a switch to easily go back and forth between "street" and "race" maps/configurations (much like the 'busa)? Aside from the whole niche market rationale, and the fact its been done. Or would this be a good 2010 feature? Commence discussion... |

I used to do something similar in ECMspy on my XB back before I was happy with my setup. I would use one map for my day to day putting around, then throw on the other map for when I didn't give a rats ass about MPG or anything. Now I just run the fun map 24/7 and get 60+mpg on it still, so I stopped fussing with it. I am sure the same can be done with the 1125 using whatever tuning software exists. |

There's tuning software to accomplish this but its far from plug 'n play like a switch would be. I (and others?) don't wanna burn hours on end trying to switch between conservative commuter and raped ape rider. |

It took me less than 5 minutes to do, and 99% of the time I knew I was going to be riding aggressively so I switched ahead of time. Once I did it on the spot. Hell, once I changed my AFV on side of the Dragon because for some reason my bike leaned out too much. Anyway, just throwing it out there. |

I suppose a hot swap of that speed could be possible after getting everything dialed in right and knowing exactly what to do. Ive never messed with the ECM (yet) but it seems tedious to use EMCSpy to manually plug in individually changed numbers. |

those guys that offer the package also have a bluetooth wireless adapter that looks like you just leave on the bike. anybody know about that? if that does just stay on the bike then talk about cake |

x-opti had the wireless modules a while back, but it seems like he's getting out of the business. why is his name prohibited when I don't add the hyphen??? |

I've navigated that site a bit but have yet to find that particular product. Looks like they are closing their doors to the Buell mods market. And I dont know why anyones name would be banned, must be a political thing. |

Clbofaz, in ECMspy you can save and load the entire map, so its not like you have to punch in each box one by one each time you switch. I was thinking about it, a push button to switch like on the BMW M5 would be awesome. As for the banned name, I suggest you look here. http://www.badweatherbikers.com/cgibin/discus/show .cgi?tpc=32777&post=1501302#POST1501302 |

Thats enlightening, and in more than one way. One can learn so much just by digging! |

There is another one that allows a quick switch from race to stock takes about 1 minute. and the race is adjustable in even less time than the 1 minute. It is pretty much plug and play. But we cannot mention the developers name here. |

As for the banned name, I suggest you look here. I just read the whole thread from start to finish...I won't claim to understand what was said or done to have another person blackballed, but thanks for pointing out the thread. |

Every time you flash a new image the storage medium may "wear" a little and eventually corrupt, rendering it useless ( experienced it on flash drives that are used constantly ). I was wondering if anybody could figure out how to connect a second ECM in tandem, with a switch to select between the two - that way you could run 2 maps and select the one you wanted. |

The EEPROM is good for at least 10,000,000 rewrites. |

Ive had the same flash drive for my nearly entire college tract and its fine, and believe me, its been used. The dual ECM idea would be nice purely for simplicity, who wants to drag the gear around to do a remap while on the road? And it doesn't look like anyone makes a switch that's allowed to mentioned here, or, a commercial option. Guess were stuck... |

Froggy, Have you been able to have ECM spy burn an entire EEPROM? My experience so far is that it will only burn cells that have been changed during the current session. I have played around with several methods of getting it to burn an entire EEPROM with no luck. I'll be the first to admit, however, that im nowhere near a computer whiz... If you have figured this out i'd greatly appreciate any pointers! |

I don't think there's any way to burn the whole thing. Changes only is all I've found to work, and has been the standard mode of operation for all '08 and later models. |

I dont have ECMspy but am adept at excel. From the tech specs Ive read you could possibly get it to burn the entire EEPROM by making it think every cell has changed w/o actually changing them by modifying the cell fill color, which it uses to indicate a change. Might try tinkering with that. |

The problem is that unless ECM spy sees a change made during the current session it will not burn. If you fetch an EEPROM then load a totally different one it will not burn because no changes have been made to the file while the program is open. When you uncheck the "changes only" option you get an error something to the effect of "failed to get firmware version." I have tried changing the firmware version and calibration ID within the text file to match the ones fetched from the bike... no luck there. |
