I decided to sell my Firebolt and want to pickup a new 1125CR.

Just wondering what kind of pricing you paid for the bike. Or have you seen in your area.

If you see a great price post up. I don't mind shipping the bike from another state.

Im in TX btw.

Search for "price" in threads topics and you'll find more than a few post discussing deals (mine included in AZ); here and elsewhere.

Also, Google dealerships allover (or those with advertised price reductions online) and ask them to give you an OTD price (with line item breakdowns) via email. The old way of haggling and shopping are long gone, welcome the age of the power internet user. Many of the dealerships will even refer you to places that have better deals, it happened to me!

Good luck.

THX Oddball. That's what I need if I want to pressure my local dealer into a better bargain for me.

Yeah I have searched other states..But I just thought that if all of us collaborate and help each other we can get into these bikes a bit easier & cheaper.

Keep posting deals. =)

Considering mine was one of the first CR's on the ground, I got more that I thought I would... Essentially, I got the saddle and tail bags and the high bar kit thrown in.

Just under $14k out the door, tax, prep, yadda yadda.

They may be working deals on them now, but I didn't really have a choice. It was the only way to shut up the little kid in my head screaming "NOWNOWNOWNOWNOWNOWNOWNOWNOWNOWNOWNOWNOWNOWNOWN... ..deep breath.....NOWNOWNOWNOWNOWNOWNOWNOWNOWNOWNOWNOW!!! !"

MSRP on my r was $11,600, Then they add $400 plus for a 4 yr vehicle license and $1250 for shipping and assembly of the bike.

Then they will try to sell you a $1250 extended warranty, I didn't bite on that.

The real key is, What kind of bike do you really want, cause once its bought new, your stuck with it for a while.

With me it is "I don't like to be limited",
I don't want a bike or car that I can master in one day and complain about how underpowerd or how inept it is for years on end.

The r has met more of my favored areas than it has not,, by a large margine. For the same price of a Nissan Versa, I think it's an ok deal. A bit selfish on my part but the kids are gone now, my second set that is.

$400 for a 4-year vehicle license??? WTF is that???

And $1250 for freight as "assembly"? What dealer did you buy from? They didn't need to sell you the extended warranty because they already got more of your money than you needed to give.

However, like many who bought early (mine was the second in my area, first at my dealer), I paid MSRP. I do a bit of business with my dealer so they waived the freight and setup fee. Buell doesn't post the freight on ite anymore, but it's in the $400 area if I remember correctly. No idea what "setup" costs since I've never been charged for it.

$400 for lic plate and 4 years worth of tag

I bitched about the assembly and shipping but it didn't change anything. It got down to either pay up or walk out,,I rode out.

Since you seem to have the bike buying universe by the ass, what are you waiting for? Go Get It.

I just picked up a brand new '09 CR for $6999.00 (not including tax, title and other b.s. fees). It was the last CR, but they had 2 '08 Rs, an '07 XB12STT, and an '07 XB12X (all bikes brand new) for the same price.

I think it was like $8,200.00 out the door, with the usual tax title and license. I can look on the sales slip for you if you want more detail.

I would say beware of dealers putting huge discounts on; the current financial crisis either has them deciding to get out of the sportbike business, or may be putting them out of business entirely. Not that you shouldn't buy it, but decide where you are going to have it serviced, etc.

I read it as a sign that the discounting dealers are the one that know 2010 comes brings a much improved 1125 series.

a - the dealers have NO idea what 2010 will bring for the 1125. None.

b - If the dealers don't know, that means the consumers don't know, so why discount a current model year bike so heavily in anticipation of a greatly improved model that no one knows about?

$400 for lic plate and 4 years worth of tag

Man, that is absurd! I thought I was getting ripped off for paying $14/yr to put my bikes on the road. I really feel for you West-coasters.

More important than the deal is the dealer.

Yeah, if you can get a deal out the door - take it and run with it!

BUUUUuuuuuuttttt... like has been said so many times before, talk to the dealer who will be doing your service. THAT is what will make or break your Buell experience.

I heard so many bad things about dealers that I decided that being a "newbie" to the brand, I went out of my way and paid full retail on a 2001 S3 at Glendale (my first Buell). Since then, I've had relationships with a couple other dealer shops - Antelope Valley and Bartels and it truly helps to KNOW the mechanics doing the work. You can have the best warranty in the world but if the mechanics are ignorant or the dealer doesn't give a F*** - you will be hating life if you EVER need their help.

As with Harley-Davidson, Buell Motorcycle Company employees are prohibited by contract from "LEAKING" information to the public about new models or model changes. On July 26th we should all know, dealers included, what the 2010s will be. BMC and HD refer to it as simultanious release.

"More important than the deal is the dealer."

=============================

More important than the deal or the dealer is the quality of the product.

Most of us will pay more for a product that is reliable and has that reputation.

I think it's just painfully obvious logical assessment. If not they will have three years of the same bike in the showroom.

The bike will change I would put money on it. Or there are dealer fears Harley is discontinuing Buell production but a third year of the current offering makes little sence.

duc,

I don't think anyone doubts that there will be changes for 2010. If you look at the historical model changes that Buell makes you will notice that the changes are generally small and give the new model year slight advantages and benefits over the last model year. Example, swing arm sliders on 2009 1125 models, bigger Rev B clutch cover puck, slight EFI and motor mods, and new color options. The XB line has been the same since 2003 with updates to the chassis, fuel injection and finally in 2008 a change to the case allowing better oiling and faster EFI updating. Look at a 2003 xb9R and then look at 2009 xb12R... lots of changes but to an untrained eye the bikes look almost identical.

Personally I think Buell will be coming out with optional bodywork for the 1125R but I doubt there will be any major changes the "Meat and Potatoes" of the bikes.

Lowest price I have seen is out of FL.

by about 1k less then what I can get it locally.

as soon as I sell my XB9R. I'll be ready to contact and be really to haggle with a dealer.

It's not obvious, painful or not. How many years did Sportster fans what rubber mounting and EFI before either actually happened? The wait was LONG.

How long has it taken for the XB line to get a MAJOR redo? 6 years and one hasn't come along.

We WILL see changes for 2010, but nothing Earth shattering. Keep your money in your pocket. We will see incremental upgrades on this bike for a few more years before some giant overhaul is made.

If it so painfully obvious, then there must be glaring issues that can be easily fixed. Care to clue us in on what we can expect new in 2010?

Cosmetics. Both the Sportster and the XB's enjoyed wider acceptance in looks. If I'm not wrong I think the Sportster has had the same looks for 50 years, It is a styling success as was the XB bikes.

Buell has always had the handling, now it has a great engine only one area is keeping it from being treated with respect.

I wouldn't hold your breath. They spent a lot of time and money for it to look the way it does.

Anyways - when a random chick, who is with her boyfriend, tells me I have a nice bike - well, I think that puts a lot of the looks arguments to rest.

Of course, I do have a CR.

==============================

I have a few predictions for 2010:

The 1125 will keep all it's lubricants inside the engine cases.

It will no longer drip gasoline; there will be no smell of gas.

The muffler will be revised to direct exhaust gas away from the rear wheel and brake disc.

The instrument cluster will reliably display information with no parasitic draw on the battery.

The turn signal bulbs will rarely need replacement.

The EPA solenoid will have a quick-disconnect feature.

The revised air/fuel ratio settings will provide excellent low speed torque, mid-range and high rpm engine response without driveability issues.

The price will go down.

Dave

(Just kidding about the price)

Hey Dave,

I will agree with the clutch weeping issue, but the rest of your list has been addreseed by BMC. Good try.

EPA solenoid quick-disconnect? I am sure the EPA would really like that. BMC should be praised for getting the bike past EPA noise restrictions and at the same time providing us any way to get past the restriction. They could have made it ALOT harder to bypass.
