I just picked up a 1996 s1 lightning with 16k miles on it. PM wheels, caliper and supertrapp exhaust. The only problem is the recall work for the shock and swingarm have NOT been done. Any New Jersey dealers who will do the work and get the parts within a reasonable amount of time ? My biggest fear is havng the bike sit because I'm waiting for parts.
Thanks
Ken

Have them schedule the work based on parts availability. If you find a dealer who is willing and able to do this then you may have found a dealer you can work with. Tell them you want to show up with the bike and wait for them to complete it and then ride it home that same day. Otherwise, if they can not accomodate this, you will have to take your bike in, find a ride home, find a ride back, then ride it home, two trips minimum for what should be just a few hours worth of work. If the dealership can't understand this then they are probably not someone you want to deal with on a regular basis.

The S1 is the greatest bike ever Built You are a lucky guy.

As for the dealer call one and get them to order the parts then go get it done.

Good Luck and Take Care

I agree, the S1 is very cool.:-)
I can't think of a bike with more personality to it . . . of course I'm smitten with my S1; a Molten Orange/Nuclear Blue '98.

The only monkey wrench thrown in the works is my shifting; it's stuck in 5th gear! I will be recieving tools shortly to tear it apart . . .
