I'm sure someone on here will be able to help. The wife and I were out riding today. Got about 100 miles in, when all hell broke loose. My bike 08 1125R started to lose power. I had to keep it tached around 4 grand to keep it moving. Check engine light came on, once I saw something on the display, SYS ERROR. I was about 8 miles from home and luckily made it back. Never had a problem with the bike ever before. I only have 4520 miles on it. Any ideas?

Go into Diag Mode and check battery voltage or, use your multi-meter. After that try charging the battery.

I have a feeling the battery has gone south but, it may be a comm error with the IC.

Bikes dont have alternators, they have stators.

A stator is one part of a whole alternator.

Hmm, yeah there are stators (which are "stationary") and rotors (which "rotate") that when combined make an .......... alternator (see a pattern here????).

This all has something to do with flux capacitors and such. Beyond this I'm lost ;+}

That's definitely true for my '08. My dealer has great coffee and I ride it there about every weekend to get a free cup!

Wait!! You were insinuating for problems? Ooops! My bad. Isn't happening for me.

Mine has been running awesome with several track days, countless mountain runs & plenty of borin' old communting since my exhaust cams were replaced during the valve adjustment at the beginning of the year.

Raymond:

I don't think that I've noticed this level of bitterness from you before.

So what has your dealer found out with your 1125??? Just curious how this is coming along. Let's try and not hijack threads when we are trying to help a fellow rider with his problems.

Thx

my dealer has found out that most of the 1125rs they have sold have been a headache for the dealer im waiting on some buell reps to come down hopefully they will do a buy back the have found plenty wrong with my bike had it for 9 months 1900 miles and am not comfortable riding the bike further than the dealer in fear of breaking down the day i left the dealer i found myself on side the road due to a 10 amp fuse where there should have been a 30 amp since then been all down hill

Punctuation-death... the period is your friend.

So what are the chances you just have a lousy dealer who can't get it right and deflects by saying "all" the 1125r are bad. Think about it for a quick second.

Raymond:

Thanks for the update. Let us know what happens.

My 08' has 22,000+ miles in 15 months with a few of the nagging ECM, leaking clutch cover issues that some of us have had. All of these issues have been resolved 110%. Even with the "issues" you could not pry my hands from the bars! I ride it 150 s'miles a day with a SEG every mile.

I will be leaving the buell brand...

I have had this exact same feeling (three times, actually) and swore off Buells forever. I do not blame you one bit. I was even able to follow through with my threat, and I lasted almost five years before I caved and bought another... but it had problems too. Thankfully, the most recent Buell I bought has been perfect- I am extremely happy (but it took four tries).

To make a long story short- you are not alone, you have every right to feel like you do, and you will most likely buy a Buell again in the future. That's the magic of family- you are always welcome at home. Best of luck.

Sorry, just don't like when someone has a bad experience (and I AM sorry you are having problems) and projects it as ALL 1125r's are inherently bad. In fact, the vast majority of 1125r's are working just fine and a very small percentage are acting up. It's just the the problem children get amplified hugely here.

Hey Boyd, go blow yourself. Your credibility is? Only a knob would come to a Buell website and choose Ducdood as a user id. IMO, with your vast number of posts here, content of said posts and user id you are a troll in training. Emotional enough for you?

Fres,

1. Blow myself? If only! That would be cool
2. Credibility? Phulease lol you lie, I have not lied.
3. Knob? So, everyone is a knob until they own one? In that case you do a poor job of selling because your don't speak honestly you bash people that have questions and concerns. If you were Buell I would not buy one. But I am here in hopes of getting one. Im just waiting for the 2010 rollout. If there are no changes or offerings don't fret I'll leave. I'm allergic to pods but would buy a Buell in a heart beat if it was sexed up.
5. Emotional enough, yeah that seems about your level. but I do want you to know I think your special, and I love you in a none sexual way.

Ducdood, you sound like a half a dozen or so trolls that have floated thru here and left. Criticize Buell everywhere possible, claim to be the honest voice among all us kool aid drinkers & are a "soon-to-be-owner."

You don't like the looks of the bike. Great! We know that already.

Other than what you have gleaned from this forum, what other insight can you shed on the Buell 1125r? Thought so.
